One of my friends and I where in the midst of a game (Orks vs. Eldar), when he brought out ye Avatar of Khaine.

He stopped for a second and pondered for a bit while I was futzing about for my espresso and came up with a very interesting question.

"If Khaine's like Humpty Dumpty... could he be put back together again?"

Never considered that bit before - didn't even know how to answer. Although to follow up on his question that came to my mind:

"Would that be an advantage or disadvantage to the Eldar or Khaine himself?"

The assumption is that a shattered weakened Khaine on all these Craftworlds makes him a harder target to exterminate completely, ie: Slaneesh can't just waltz in and munch on Eldar God sandwich. (S)He has to go about smiting all the crumbs.

Thoughts?

I guess in theory Khaine could be returned to his former power, though it isn't likely anything would stop Slaanesh from going after him again. Khaine is also a part of Khorne, like a distant sort of conjoined cousin or something. Khaine's return to power would have who knows what effect on the balance of power (or lack there of) amoung the chaos gods. This in turn could royally mess up the galaxy.

It would probably only make things worse.

If they put Khaine back together, Khorne and Slaanesh would immediately start fighting over him again. Who's to say they'd luck out and only have him split up this time, perhaps he'd just be killed.

Also, Khaine hates the Eldar, or more specifically, he loves murdering Eldar. Seriously, it's like his whole bag. Sure, he killed their enemies sometimes too, but mostly he murdered them, their heroes, and their gods. You'd have to be in a pretty Godzilla Threshold scenario to even think about doing this.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

When people ask, "What's the point in understanding everything?" they've just disqualified themselves from using questions and should disappear in a puff of paradox. But they don't understand and just continue existing, which are also their only two strategies for life.
