Is it just me or will these guys be quite interesting with eHaley. When you feat with her one of the common ways to lessen the damage coming seems to be for the enemy to just advance and tie up your models if they were close enough, without striking any blows (since they forfeit their action). With the TAC, you use Vortex of Flames (fire continuous effect for enemies within 2") to spread a 12" protective bubble over your front line. Then feat. Then if the enemy still advance, they suffer fire continuous effect, and then in your turn (when you have taken no casualties, and the enemy is close), you flame blast them instead of vortex of flames to clear out clumps while your jacks clean up any nearby heavies etc.

If the enemy don't try and jam you on feat turn, you just get that extra turn of shooting with your defender and hunter and what not and/or throw your melee jacks all the way across the board at them, as you would have wanted to anyway.

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

pNemo adores these guys. They give him a cloud wall and three power tokens for four noncharacter points.

Mercs in general enjoy the magic attacks and pow 13s and fire immunity.

I haven't looked into their viability in khador but I have a feeling Irusk and old witch can make things happen with them.

The Vortex is Flames is almost useless. You use it on your turn. On their turn their models get set on fire, but none of them die. Now it's your turn again and they're still all there, you're still tied up. Do you now try to kill them, or just hope they don't make that 1/3 chance to go out or even just not die? You're better off just Flame Blasting to kill a few guys or smoke walling to protect from shooting.

Ah I misunderstood that. Never had to use continuous effects before (and only had them used on me a few times, most of my stuff dies outright all the time). Ah well, they still have smoke

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

Oh, I forgot to mention. If they kill they TAC, then they also don't get set on fire at all. It's one of the things that makes people not like the Arch Angel, as that thing has Vortex of Flames for an Animus. It would be a Far better ability if you also took a Pow10 at the same time it set you on fire.

My initial point was that this would stop the jamming on haley's feat turn, if they move to jam they can't even swing at the TAC. I do get how it works at the end of activation

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...
