An interesting development:

http://www.gamezoneminiatures.com/tienda/en/dark-elves/1624-dark-elf-infantry-box-plastic-resin-.html

25.50 Euros/ £21.80/ $33.37 for 30 miniatures, with extra packs available to add either male or female spearmen to the regiment.

Gamezone have some very nice models in their range, and this should see them become nice and affordable.. exactly 3 times cheaper than the metals to be exact.

The dark elf spearmen are pretty nice, far better than the GW ones IMO while still heroic scale and fitting in well with the rest of the range.

I've always liked their Dark Elves, but the price put me off getting them. Really glad to see them switch to Restic.

Guess I'm starting a Dark Elves army.

Their "Not Cold One Knights" are just incredible.

don't they know that when going from metal to plastic you're supposed to increase the cost so everyone can call them something like Dark Elf Goldmen

I think I'm going to sell 3 Eldar Wraithguard I've got laying around to buy a box of these.

I just noticed the Resin light cavalry and 9 model spear sets too. This may have gotten me back into Fantasy gaming.

This is simply not fair.

I love their models. And Dark Elves are a favorite fantasy army...

Oh well. I guess I'll have to buy some...

Nice find. I had never heard o these guys before, and the models are great. GW better hurry and get all the money they can quick since all the little guys have caught up (and many surpassing) them in quality for the cost.

So how much money do you think GW would make if they switched their old metals/new finecast minis to restic and lowered the price... Nah, makes too much sense, they'll never do it...

The one thing that has put me off the gamezone range is the price tag hopefully that will now disappear over the next few months.

Sorry, got burned on their cold one riders. Horribly cast, major gaps. Used an entire stick of green stuff on a unit of 5.

Their spear men are alight, but anything that requires two pieces to be put together, forget it. Gaps galore.

I have zero faith there will be any decent quality control on these figs. Also, from ordering from them, those prices are pre-VAT. They will tack it on regardless of what country you live in.

*edit* Just to add, I would wait for RH's kickstarter rather than give these guys any of my money. Have faith in RH, Gamezone, no.

Amazingly good news. I had always thought they did the that particular style of fantasy exrremely well and even had an undead army made mostly from their figures before I switched scales.

Should be beneficial for all sorts of fantasy players (including but not limited to WFB).

Fantastic news. The price point is unbeatable on the spearmen, and the models themselves are beautiful. I'm glad to see advances in casting technology result in more affordable miniatures for the consumer like this. I wonder how much of their range they intend to migrate over to the new material, and how fast.

I bought an army's worth of Dwarves from Gamezone, fantastic little models. The price wasn't that inhibitive when you bought the box-sets, worked out about just under 2 pounds for a single miniature.

And there are those of us of course who prefer the weight and tactile properties of a metal miniature

Some of their vampire/undead range (especially the vampires on Horseback) are absolutely breathtaking.

Anybody know what the currency they use on their store is? Doesn't look like pounds or euros and I have no idea how much my order actually will cost.

It's Euros. The hard to read symbol € (on their site, not the symbol itself used elsewhere on decent backgrounds and fonts) is the symbol for a Euro.

I bought about 30 metal Gamezone DE spearmen/women over the years, I will certainly add 30-60 more now. Plus the riders.

Resin plastic is robust enough for the spears not to break that easily. And it makes the riders not break from the base (always a problem with Gamezone's heavy metal models balancing on just one hoof).

Edit: Reminds me that Crossbows are more effective than speers currently. But the dam is broken.

Patience- that may very well happen. Especially if we all pounce on the units that they have done in restic.

I applaud Gamezone for making a product with an affordable price-point and great quality! Now everyone snap them up as fast as possible before GW tries some form of corporate dickery to shut them down.

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

Many retailers will stock it once it is available, among them Battlefield Berlin. But not yet.
