So with the victory of the tau in the titan factory, the
BA have been sorely undersupported in their planetary defense, openning a hole that would allow the tau to seize the planetary landing facilities. A victory here would ensure the Tau could invade the planet at large, leaving the
BA outnumbered and outgunned against a superior foe.
As such, the mission would be Trade Off- I mean attack and defend with two capture points and a vanguard deployment. Sorry about the bad pics, I'm out of batteries for my normal camera.

So
BA deployed and moved first:
To start off, the assault squad rushed the Tau flag, while the Landraider moved up and unloaded into both devilfishes.
Fortunately for the tau, despite penetrating it only shook one devilfish, forcing out the troops inside.
The Libby tried to wings but rolled snakeeyes, knocking off a hull point but still allowing it to rush towards the Riptide
During the tau turn the gunline teams on the flag unloaded into the assault squad, picking off enough bodies to force a leadership check
that they failed and started running! the little sissies...
Run run Mr. Space marines...even a sanguinary priest couldn't help you!
The two mobile teams loaded up and started rushing for the objective, with the crisis teams using the devilfishes for cover against the lascannons on the landraider
The riptide and shadowsun together in a squad jumped behind the
AA gun and tried to fire a nova round into the landraider...but missed horribly.
On the top of turn 2, the Landraider unloaded into the undamaged devilfish, blowing it up, then using the heavy bolter to put some wounds on the already critically wounded firewarrior team inside...causing them to panic and run off the board.
The assault squad regrouped (damn
ATSKNF) and it returned to trying to smash in the tau gunline's faces, while the libby managed to pop its magic this time and rushed towards the riptide
With the destruction of the first mobile team, the second (wounded) devilfish continued to rush towards the marine objective, with the crisis suits moving up behind it using it for cover
In order to cover the upcoming beating that the landraider would no doubt deal to the devilfish, the riptide tried to nuke it with a nova shot, only to gets hot and have his
FnP fail as well
Damn nova reactor...
The riptide and shadowsun then leapt away from the libby in an effort to draw him and the assault squad away from the gunline tau
Which didn't work. Instead, the
tac squads began to consolidate on their flag, while the termies and Assaults squad did what they did best: assaulting.
The termies assaulted the devilfish and destroyed it, and the assault squad, despite sucking down 48 BS5 shots from the two gunline teams, managed to survive with 7 models left and reach combat, destroying the heck out of the first gunline squad who survived with 2 models left and didn't flee combat.
On the tau turn, everything unloaded into the termies, killing them pretty handily:
And the riptide popped its blast into the
tac squad on the flag, killing all but about four
In assault, the tau squad lost another model, but still had one man left who continued not to flee.
The rest of the team moved towards the flag, only to be assaulted by what was left of the
tac squad on the
BA turn:
Miraculously the crisis team survived combat and managed to pick off everything but the captain:
Ultimately however, at the end of Turn 5, the
BA were tabled as everything unloaded into what was left of their army only for them to die. Leaving the Tau in control of both flags without anything to fight back.
