Subject: Lucarikx's WGC Bat-Reps - Now with Practice Game
Hey all, I'll be heading over to Austin this weekend for WGC. It'll be my first major tournament, so I wanted to make sure I got some good Bat-Reps in. I'll be using BA + SM for my list. I know BA are kinda dated at this point, but I wanted to give the Angels one last chance before I move on to my Tau. I hope to update this thread each night with all the Bat-Reps for both days.
Heres the list if anyone would like to look at it:
Spoiler:
BA:
Librarian (Shield, Unleash Rage) [Will switch out for Divination if needed)
Fragnought (Pod)
Tac Squad (10 man, LC, PG)
Tac Squad (10 man, LC, PG)
ASM (10 man, X2 MG, Pod)
X2 Vindicator
SR (TLAC, TLMM)
SM Allies:
Librarian(Null Zone, Gate of Infinity) [Goes with Hammernators]
Assault TDA ( 5 man, TH/SS)
Tac Squad (Flamer, HB)
Thanks for checking this out. I wish the best of luck to others going!
Lucarikx

The Stormraven deals with fliers most of the time. Each of the BATac Squads have Lascannons, so I can combat squad if I need to bust some tanks. I also have the suicide ASM squad to deal with heavier stuff like LR or Monoliths.
Dreadnought comes in, on target. Lands right in front of the Kroot and can land some hits on a squad of Tac Marines and FW.
SM Libby fails GoI on a 11! Do'h! The BA Libby casts Forewarning on one of the Vindicators on a 7.
Terminators move forward, towards the Kroot. Tac Marines stay still, waiting to get shots off. The Vindicators move up 12", in range of most of the Tau gunline.
Riptide tries to Intercept the Dread, and fails to do any damage. (I really wanted to tell my opponent, "No! Don't do that.....")
In the shooting phase, 1 Vindicator gets 4 FW, and the other does no damage to the Predator. The Fragnought lays waste to 6 Kroot, the Shaper, 6 FW, and 3 Marines! Not too shabby... Not much else to do, so I run the TDA.
Tau/SM
He doesn't move his gunline at all, and moves his ASM towards one of the Vindicators. The Riptide moves slightly, and the Commanders unit moves into postion.
In the shooting phase, The Commander and Bodyguard kill 2 TH/SSTDA, The Riptide does 0 damage to anything, and the Missileside immobilizes the Dread. He wastes 3 markerlights on the Dread, thinking he could hurt it with Kroot (What?). The Railhead misses(!) on the Dread.
He does his assault move, moving his Commander 6" backwards and his Riptide 5" forwards.
Turn 2:
Spoiler:
BA/SM:
The drop ASM come in, combat squading in front of the FW and the Railhead (They are . The SR fails to come in.
The TDA move towards the Kroot, the surviving Vindicator moves onto the midfield Objective.
In the shooting phase, I bring down the Bodyguard with the Tac Squads LC's. The Vindicator kills 2 more FW. The Drop ASM obliterate Longstrike, and the other half kills 3 FW.
The Dread kill 4 more(wow!) FW and the SM Captain. The second Vindicator fails to do anything to the enemy ASM.
When making leadership tests, the Commander fails on a 11! He runs back 7", only a few centimeters away from the board edge!
The Hammernators charge the Kroot, overkilling by 3 wounds.
Tau/SM:
Doesn't move much.
Riptide misses all shots at the Vindicator, and he kills the non-melta Combat Squad. The Predator does nothing to one Vindicator, but the ASM manage to blow it up, at the cost of a singe marine. The Commander kill 2 of the Drop ASM himself.
He moves back in the assault phase.
Looking at the battlefield, he concedes.
Results:
The BA did really well for me. Lots of good rolls, especially for the Drop Pods. The Fragnought is still a big winner for me, I'll definitely keep him. The TDA disappointed me though, as they were only able to kill 4 Kroot. Maybe I should use the points for a Dev Squad w/ PC or maybe even some Sternguard or a few Sanguinary Priests.
