Just wondering which is your favourite faction so far?

I'd say the Rebs for me, followed closely by Enforcers and Forge Fathers, then Plague and Marauders and finally Asterians.

What do you guys think?

(This is no relation to me working out which bits of my Strike Team I'd sell off if I did. I promise. Honest. )

Prior to having the models in hand I'm defeinitely: Enforcers, Rebs, Plague, Asterians, Forge Fathers and then Marauders.

Once I see them in the flesh, the back 3 might shuffle around a bit, but I doubt the top three will move much if at all.

Probably the FF, just because I'm conditioned to say that after more than being starved of many dwarves in space for more than a decade.

Although I really like the idea of the Rebels, and they certainly seem the most imaginative.

What Squig said model wise with swapping the FF for the Enforcers. Plague have some neat models and would be 4th I suppose. Orx edge out Asterians on their booster (have high hopes for the hulk and artillery) since I don't care for any of the concepts or intitial models from both groups.

Enforcers - What's not to love ?
Plague - 1st and 2nd Generations look awesome
Rebs - The multiracial composition makes them interesting to look at, and they are arguabley the only "good" guys in Deadzone

I can't get excited over Forge Fathers and Asterians until I see actual models.

Did they decide on the nature of the Asterian Cyphers? Are they AI or remotely-piloted robot bodies? The latter option is more appealing to me, in that it reminds me of something that happened in Dreadstar way back in the 80's, and I'm old enough to feel nostalgic. Enforcers and Marauders are a close second for me.

Forge Fathers for me - which was a complete shock to me, as I had no interest in them until the concept art started coming out.

Rebs and Enforcers close second, Marauders not far off in third. Disappointed by the concept art for the Asterians, and couldn't care less about the Plague - will definitely be offloading that part of my Strike Team.

Enforcers #1, followed by Marauders then Rebs. I'm mostly using it to supplement my Warpath fix. Lol. Already have a full Enforcer and Marauder army, these will bulk those out.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

More of this kind of stuff? I think they are ace, not so much the plastics but the metal, later releases show what potential they have.

That's not to say I don't like any of them though. I actually like all of the factions. At worse, the Marauders are just alright. Everything else though I absolutely love. I can't wait to paint my Cyphers. I'm planning a Tron scheme for them with the Alpha units using Gundam schemes: one red, black, and yellow in Johnny Ridden's Zaku color scheme, the other blue and black in a Gouf scheme with some spikes added to the shoulders. I might also paint the grav bikers to match up with Southern Cross' Bioroid mechs. Forge Fathers will continue in the Cadian colors I began with, though the Forge Guard will get green Zaku-based schemes and the Orbital Drop Dwarf is going to get Titans blue, black, and yellow. Enforcers will get their studio Cerberus styled colors, Marauders will be Afrika Korps, and the Rebs and Plague will be studio colors. I can't wait to paint these things!!

Forge Fathers: i love the concept of the race, but i think mantic have not done a good job with them yet. Deadzone looks like a great moment to do it right...

Rebs surprised me, and Enforcers are just fantastic...

If my post show some BAD spelling issues, please forgive-me, english is not my natural language, and i never received formal education on it...

1) Rebs - I think the inclusion of the Teraton gave them an unfair advantage for me. The Grogan have potential. Just so many races that are and might be cool to not include them at number one. And the way it appears to be set-up, I could have a reb force that included just a couple species, or one that looked like they just got off an Ark and their Captain's name was Noah

2) Forge Fathers - These guys slightly edge out the Enforcers for me. I don't know if I'll be dipping heavily into the Brokkr ranks much in my personal force. I prefer the elite troops their packing better. Though their objectives may force me to redirect my tactics. Ordered a couple bikes past the one in the booster bundle naturally

3) Enforcers - I love Space Marines on the fact that they are humans that kick arse. Sorry, but at the end of the day I got to support my race. I feel the same way about the Enforcers. They also appear to be one, if not the most elite faction, meaning individuals are better on their force then the others, and I prefer quality versus quantity forces anyday of the week (there are a few video game exceptions where the "quantity" gets in the thousands and it's just fun to watch).

4) Asterians - There is definitely a gap between 3 and 4, and I still love these guys and might paint them up instead of sell them or trade them (I chose to support this game to the best of my ability, and so pledge for at least one of every model). It all depends how they really function in the end. I like the robot concept. Seems ridiculous to be sending in fresh meat to an outbreak like this when you don't need the resources like a couple of the other factions do. So I'm on board and am excited to see thier objective deck.

5) Mauraders - I was a little shocked to see some of the responses to the improvements made of these guys. They may not look like what you want them to, but to say they didn't look MUCH better after the official pics were out is just a little......ignorant. As long as they steer away from them being a joke and the comic relief, I'm excited for them. As soon as they make them "goofy" and not just of a bit lower intelligence, this faction goes to number......whatever the lowest number would be at the time. I'm always excited to play against Orcs however, and so I'm crossing my fingers the usually orcish horde following sets in a little bit after release.

6)Plague - Now. I REALLY like the look of the plague. The 1st Gen looks amazing. I'm not even sure a 3-year-old could put a paint job on that model to make it look bad. I would just rather shoot the hell out of them and get rid of the abominations then spread misery and pestilence across the planet. I'm very much pleased with the antagonist in the game. They are just on the bottom of my personal play list.

I'm going with Forge Fathers since they have thick and chunky power armor.

Good enough reason for me.

Also: lazer mining tanks.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Enforcers, Because I really like the Iron Man/Master Chief theme they have going with that range, a close second has to be defiantly the Forge Fathers, but that's because I really like the look of the Walkers in Warpath and hope they make more of that kind of stuff for Deadzone

Also just a question but when is Deadzone out for release?

So wait, how is this different from Warpath?

Basically, it's a skirmish game set in an urban environment, similar to necromunda, but with a closer tie to board-game mechanics (no tape measures are used in the game).

Warpath is a mass-battle game that is a fairly close 40k analogue.

A thought occurs. My favorite faction is the terrain! Which am I going to use in every game? But I guess that wasn't the question so:

I guess I have to say rebs. The variety of the models, the potential for campaign story lines, and so on pull them ahead. Enforcers are really close behind. Slots 3-6 are:

3.) Forge fathers. I don't love space dwarfs, but the stuntiness grows on you. I picked up a discount box of steel warriors and I didn't think that I loved them until I got a couple painted on bases. The squatness of them, I dunno, makes them endearing The value of their faction starter is also hard to miss, full squad of squatinators per. Not as good as peacekeepers but FG aren't plastic either.

4.)Marauders. I'm treating these guys as a single-race version of the rebs. While some of the sculpts and direction have been less than stellar, I <3 them for their potential for storytelling and so on.

5.)Plague. Basic models I'm kind of meh for. The big guys are amazing, anything on a 40mm base has been pretty awesome. These are a really neat antagonist for the game, and seem to fill up Warpath's equivalent to "chaos" or "traitor guard", while not being directly either of those things.

6.)Asterians. I don't dislike elves, but I don't really like them either. While these guy's are sixth, it means in no way that I am not excited to get them next year! I like the idea of banks of spelves sitting up in an invisible space ship running robots anime style. The other armies just excite me more is all.

I like the Forgefathers best. I was too young for Squats but love them, and a lot of that range was admittedly poorly sculpted, too. The Forgefathers let me get my Squat fix, but with a more realistic sci-fi look. Hopefully the Exo armor ends up being very cool in it's final form, and the bike is awesome looking, too.

I plan on using them for games of Deadzone, as well as actual Squats against my normal 40K range using the "In the Emperor's Name" skirmish ruleset.

Total bummer they are Q2 2014.

After getting my KoW second shipment, I have to say that my expectations for any of the factions have been significantly lowered. I guess I'm resigned to the fact that Mantic just can't put out models that look nice. :/

I for one have no problem at all with any of the existing Forgefather models, and I think the renders of the exo-suits looks great. They are squat and blocky, but that fits the Forgefather aesthetic.

The only models they seem to be really dropping the ball with are the Marauders for Deadzone, unless you like the Rogue Trader/2nd Edition Space Ork look, of course. Everything else seems pretty close to the concept art, even if like the Plague, the concept art is pretty "meh". The Hulk model is absolutely fugly, but it's also part of the Marauders, so that's kind of a theme.
