Because they are shooting ghost bullets.

In the tradition of new codexes/armies being stupidly overpowered with new rules, imagine the following army ...

The Ghost Warriors!

Ethereal Form: The entire army has Stealth, Shroud, and Hit and Run. They also have a 2+ invulnerable save vs all "Physical" weapons (not lasers, plama, melta, etc) - the book would have to have an exhaustive list).

Fear of Fire: Any wounds from Flamers, Melta, or Soulfire weapons will cause instant death and allow no save. Any squad suffering woudns

They would also be able to decrease the strength of their attacks to increase the ap value of their weapons, or reduce their AP value to increase the strength of their weapons. This is to represent their ability to faze in and out of physical existence to bypass armor, find vehicle weakspots, etc. They may also have haywire as a USR, I'm not sure.

Anyways, I was just running with some funny ideas of inspiration I had. What do you think for balancing? Any other ideas anyone has, feel free to brainstorm and shout them out. If this idea gets any traction, I might develop this a little more.

Not sure if serious or trolling.

Take it all with humor and a grain of salt. This is just for fun.

Fair enough. :p

I wasn't sure since the top and bottom parts of the post seemed kinda at odds. But if we want to parody overpowered stuff, especially this forum, I have a bit of a challenge for you.

Your squads have d3+1 special rules, chosen randomly from the rulebook. What do you get?

True, that would be funny. I was just trying to imagine if you could design an army that was ridiculously overpowered, yet somehow balanced by absurd weaknesses to which they fell like flies. Like, imagine grey knights where each model had ap2, but if they get shot at, they need to make a leadership test or disappear.

I don't know if it is possible or not, but it is a fun idea.
