What is it that confuses you about the animus?

I'll admit I haven't seen the animus in use myself but assuming the write up on battle college is accurate it seems to work by casting it on the beast or warlock, moving within 2" of a model during the movement of the model that has the animus on it then place the model you passed within 2" of within 2" of the animus affected model.

e.g.

Model A is the Seraph

Model B is a Carnivean

Model A casts Slipstream
Model A advances (or starts its advance) within 2" of Model B during its advance
Model A Finishes its advance
Model B is placed completely within 2" of Model A.

This would allow you to pick up the Carnivean and move it into combat, out of combat, further up the board, to an objective etc and then have carnivean activate afterwards.

...The idea of a small based warlock carrying around a heavy beast is amusing though when they use the animus.

Actually, the placement for model B will be completely within 2" of where model B began. Otherwise Ravanar's example is perfect.

Slipstream is very much a friendly-only telekenesis with a caveat that the seraph or it's warlock has to move within 2" of the target rather than cast it directly.

yeah rav is wrong

model B is placed completely within 2" of model B's starting point, not within 2" of model A

Its basically a 2" move for model B if Seraph flies near it

6+ = 6/36 | Reroll 1s = 7/36 | Reroll Misses = 11/36 ||||||| 5+ = 12/36 | Reroll 1s 14/36 | Reroll Misses = 20/36 ||||||| 4+ = 18/36 | Reroll 1s 21/36 | Reroll Misses = 27/36
3+ = 24/36 | Reroll 1s 28/36 | Reroll Misses = 32/36 ||||||| 2+ = 30/36 | Reroll 1s 35/36 ||||||| Highest of 2d6 = 4.47

No. The model that cast Slipstream can move as far as it wants or can. It just has to pass within 2" of the other model at some point in the move and then that second model can move 2".

A for Angelius (or whoever has slipstream)
B for Bob the Scythean
A - is 1 inch

Starting positions, assuming A now activates, casts slipstream, and advances in a straight line (and his base will at some point be within 2" of B's base during it's direct move forwards)

A--

Finishing positions. You can see how A passed by B, pulling it forwards and placing it completely within 2" of it's starting position while it kept jetting forwards, finishing its move wherever.

Move the Seraph. Per it's normal movement rules.
Note each model the seraph passes within 2" of during this movement.
When the seraph finishes its movement, choose one of the models you noted above.
Place the chosen model completely within 2" of it's current position.

Well I was close at least, not bad considering I've never seen one of these actually used before :p

Actually being close is pretty bad. Warmahordes has a very preciese language to its rules. If you don't follow that language then you give wrong advice leading to people losing games because of your misunderstanding/mistatement of those rules.
I'm not saying that someone can't be wrong in their understanding of the rules. But the attitude of "I don't know much about it and this is close enough" just gets to me (sorry).

To be honest, when I first read the animus and the first few times I used the Seraph, I was under the impression that the Seraph or warlock using the animus had to end their movement within two inches of the model to be moved. Then I reread the animus and smacked myself in the head.

first time I read it, I had to reread it like 3x to understand it

and it was only after i took the time to break it down sentence by sentence that I managed to finally understand

Well, the point here I think is that we can all agree on what it actually does. Thank goodness for a lack of overly murky and ambiguous language in PP's games.
