I'm going to start working on my IG soon and I could use a some advice on what to use on their bases to make them more scenic. I'm using all Cadian models and I plan on doing black armor with red shirts/pants. All my vehicles will be red with black tiger stripes. All models are assembled and primed. I thought of doing white snow bases to make the model really stand out, but it didn't make sense seeing as red wouldn't work for camouflage in a snowy terrain . Any thoughts?

Lava landscape could be fun. I assume use a few layers of thin cork, and some PVA glue. Prime cork black, then dry brushing of various reds, orange, and yellow near the base and work my way up?
