As the title says, I've noticed something about certain Astardes helmets. Mainly a trend in the Death-Guard and Sons Of Horus but also various other Legions. Certain helmets have a spike on the top of them, and I'd like to know where that comes from: as I assumed they where from the Pickelhaube. And what type of Helmet that is and if there is any way to purchase it for any of my miniatures?

And yes, my first post

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

There are a number of companies who produce spiked helmets of different styles.

This thread should contain most of them. Off the top of my head I think Puppets of War do some "space helmets" with spikes on the top.

Failing that, you can always get some Warriors of Chaos helmets (or any generic fantasy knight helmets) and add a spike to the top.

Hmm, thanks!

So, are they based of the Pickelhaube.. or some random tribal hat or something?

I'm planning to make something akin' to a Death-Guard army with quite allot of Spiked Helmets, as I've seen quite allot of cool pictures of Death Guard wearing them

When I think of spiked helmets I think of this:
Which is the Pickelhaube as you say.

This site has more confusing info on how it varies due to rank:

Not sure if those are what you are after, but I use those for my death guard.
