So ive got an empire army and i want to add in a couple of merc units but i dont want them to look out of place...

Any sugestions on tying them in? I want to paint them differently to stand out but would want them to still tie in as looking like they fit.

I will base them the same as my army.

Thanks

Using the same paint scheme and basing will go a long way to helping with it.

He wasnt being sarcastic. You said nothing about what you are going to do and only asked how to make them fit in. The advice was very good. Basing will help quite a lot as will painting them a similar scheme. You should probably be nicer to people who are trying to help.

Also "Obviously i mean and oainting them different..." Makes no sense. Even assuming "oainting" is painting I still have no idea what you are trying to say.

Personally I think I would prefer my Mercs to stand out as Mercs so I would just use basing to tie them in. Maybe give them an empire flag to hold to symbolise their alliance.

Perhaps being more specific about which army you are using and which are going to be merc might help us lend suggestions?

If you want to paint them differently, it might be worth incorporating markings into the scheme to tie them in with the rest of the army. If they have a banner, use that to tie them in. Use the same heraldry/other markings as the rest of the army.

Basing goes a huge way - as has been said before. However, given that they are mercenaries, you don't want them to fit in too much - they should look distinct. Basing and heraldry/banners etc should help you acheive that balance.
