29th Birthday Present from my wonderful wife. I responded in kind and her Alpha Legion dreadnought is on order lol, but for the moment here's this guy's WIP.

I plan to have him toting a Seismic Hammer (counts as DCCW) and Plasma cannon. Got some gorgoeus DA bling to go on him and a banner as well, more pics as I go.

Bit of an update, the Sarcophagus is nearly finnished, just to do the skulls and the mechanicum symbol on the back. I also went back over the wings and tried to make them a bit better defined.

Those are really nice, is your whole army going to be based on them?

Nah I initally wanted a base which fit the aesthetic of a chaplain dreadnought and that one did in my mind. That said, future units might be making use of them. I want to do a command squad for Asmodai using the DA vet sprue and the command squad sprue and hooded skull heads from anvil miniatures using those bases.

Impressive start so far, I can't wait to see it finished!

Still going hehe, close to 15 hours painting. The base, legs and Sarcophagus (minus the Iron Halo which I'm working on right now) is done. That only leaves the banner I've made, the plasma cannon, Seismic Hammer and a few other bitz to go.

Looks great dude, the only criticism i can think of is that its fairly monocrome at the moment. maybe some DA green to break up all the bone and black colouring. That said, thats just my personal opinion, and entirely subjective. So feel free to ignore it.

Yeah working on that one, I am a bit like yourself but with my deathwing I tend to punctuate it with some green here and there. I've a tabard which will hang from his "ribcage" and the banner I've made out of some bitz will be green behind him. Plus his Plasma cannon and Seismic hammer will have colour enough on them.

In other news, my wife's been plugging away at the hellbrute I got in DV for my birthday. She's decided on Alpha Legion cos she's crazy for em.

I'll be using a proper SLR setup with proper lighting once we are both finnished of course.

The drybrushing on that base is amazing. I know you probably want comments on the Dreadnought more than the base, but I think a display and army based on that kind of dark stone temple theme would look absolutely amazing.

The base was primed black, heavily drybrushed in adeptus battlegrey, then lightly in codex grey, then heavily washed with thrakka green, and then lightly drybrushed in fortress grey.

Some more pics there, The completed Sarcophagus, the weapons, the banner, chain for the plasma cannon and a few wee bits I'll use to adorn him with scripture.

I'll continue with him tomorrow, any suggestions for how to do the plasma cannon?

Ok a small update this evening, I've finnished the plasma cannon. I've included a pic of it alongside the bit that will be adorning it. They'll be calling him Brother Jingles behind his back...

Ok I've got the arms on the Chassis and I'm waiting for the plasma cannon arm to set before I get it onto the base. After which I can finish off some small details like highlighting the parchment on the garland on the plasma cannon arm.

Once again sorry for the lack of decent pics, like I say i've a proper setup coming once it's finnished, I simply couldnt be bothered to set up the DSLR every time hehe.
