So I'm looking to get into Bolt Action and was looking to use the marine minis so I've got two questions.

1) How do you guys paint the marines clothes? I was looking at the paint bundle on their website but it doesn't to cover painting the models to that high a detail, I've looked online but couldn't find any tutorials.
2) How would you guys suggest get a sand dune like affect for the bases? I was thinking of using plaster?

Thanks

Did you already get some marines? Plastic marines are being worked on now.

I'm not sure about the marines but the army is pretty easy, what exactly are you looking to do to make it higher detail?

No I haven't bought any yet as I'm waiting for the plastic marines. I by higher detail what colours would you use to paint the clothes past a basecoat as that's all the bundle seems to offer.

I just use the colors they list on their site (for my us army/Italian paratroopers) and then use washes, If I feel the need to highlight anything at all its usually just going over the wash in certain places with the same color that I painted to begin with to brighten it up,

I feel with bolt action unlike warhammer 40k or warmachine I don't highlight much. I think e figures are small enough that they don't need to much "extra" to look good.
