So while reading angel Exterminatus I had an idea for some EC I thought I'd paint them up in there purple heresy colours and then use fluorescent pigments to look like splatters. So I was wondering what do you guys think this would look like?

Splatters of what? Blood? (I've not read Angel Exterminatus so I won't know if this is a reference to the book xD)

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

Some limited splattering of bright pink might look OK on the purple armour.

If you are planning on a Halo-like bright alien blood splatter, that might look interesting if you combine it with alien bodies crushed on some bases and being hacked apart on the odd model.

In the book there's descriptions about the EC and how instead of painting their armour they splattered it with fluorescent pigments. I was asking because I was just wondering if it would translate well onto a model if it would just look cluttered and messy?

oh I get what you mean. So in the book they refer to the fact the armour colour is created with splattered pigments instead of any sort of general colouring.

Perhaps test it on a model? Any model in armour would work I imagine; for a base idea. But in terms of telling you how'd it look without actually doing it, well that'd be rather hard I say just give it a go! If you havent got the exact colours you can simply use another colour range as a tester, say reds, or blues or yellows or any colours you have

Question is: How would you achieve your splatter? You could use a brush and flick lightly, alternating colours frequently to get a good mix in the layers. You could use an airbrush on a very low PSI to lightly dust the models, alternating colours once again. Err not sure how else you could splatter it. You could sponge it on too, to get a very rough effect, or stipple it with a brush to get a similar look.

Favourite Game: When your Warboss on bike wrecks 3 vehicles simply by HoW - especially when his bike is a custom monowheel.

I think it'd just look like a Pollock painting xD But yano, it might have a cool overall effect. Wouldn't really fit in with the tanks though, because those are painted by the Adeptus Mechanicus and I can't imagine them sitting there flicking pigments at tanks x)
