Hey people,

I read something recently about the Alpha Legion and their relation with the Cabal.

the Cabal seem to think if the Human race perishes entirely then the Chaos gods would go with them because they are so heavily involved in the human race.

So I was just wandering if the Chaos gods corrupt any other races, I mean the Eldar are exposed to it a bit with The Black Library and such, the Orks have pretty weak minds and the Tau could be pretty easy to corrupt as well.

Thanks,

Slaanesh is all about the Eldar. Human souls are just a tasty bonus.

The Orks are too simple minded to be taken by chaos and they also have their gods, gork and mork, to protect them. Tau are a new race and as such they have little to no reflection in the warp. They cannot perceive the chaos gods whatsoever. However there are other, smaller scale alien races that can and as soon as the humans and eldar (losing their meat shield) die another race would come along for the chaos gods to feed upon. I think that the cabal was actually on the side of chaos myself, as the idea of a final end to chaos seems impossible and there is no way horus could wipe out the human race. Not only would the chaos gods not let him but they would not let him.

It's not that Chaos couldn't survive without humanity, I think it's more like at the time of the heresy the Chaos powers had so much power at stake and invested in turning select primarchs against the Emperor, that if their plans fell apart, they'd go down with them.

At the risk of seeming like an even bigger nerd, I'd liken it to Sauron forging the One Ring. To do everything he needed it to do, he had to invest much of his own power into the ring. Destroying the ring left Sauron vastly diminished, to the point where though he was still around, he was so weakened that he'd never pose a threat to anything in middle earth again.

Daemons--5000
Death Guard --2000
Daemons--15000
Word Bearers--10000

Total investment in the Forces of Chaos: 38,000

The Orks have their own gods (which in many ways are stronger than the Chaos gods) and the Tau are so hard to corrupt due to such limited psychic potential that chaos dont seem to bother, especially when there are trillions times the number of humans compared to tau who are far easier to corrupt.

Chaos relies on the emotions of sentient mortal races to sustain them, some races are able to feed the gods more emotion due to stronger psychic potential (Eldar>Humans>Tau). No sentient life means no emotion which means no chaos gods. If humanity was wiped out as per the cabals plan the chaos gods would still be around but severely weakened (as long as the eldar kept their population in check).

And heaven forbid if the Marine would also happen to have an intimidating looking, vertical scar. Then you're surly boned. Those guys are the worst. Not a chance I'd say.

I remember an incident where a bunch of Orks stumbled upon a Shrine of Gork and started to worship it.
Turns out it was actually a Shrine of Nurgle...
