I've posted on a few other sites so I guess I'm branching out in general, trying to learn all I can about what works and doesn't work in 6th in an abbreviated period before determining whether I'm comfortable entering the FoB open or not. I know Meph is generally used and I've had a lot of success with him in the few games I've played but I'm looking for a more survivable option to the pod Fragioso. Cheers!

An alternative variant I've created has some edits that get a few more squads into the fight sooner. Actually haven't play tested either as I'm waiting for my raven to come in the post and still need to finish assembly and paint on my assault termies.

Not enough troops for 2k. Heldrakes/ Riptides will be your most serious threat, so more troops is always better.

If you're gonna run the Sternguard, more is always the answer. 5 special bolters is a bad joke vs anything, really........ If you want to take this to FoB, I would suggest a few things:

1. More Sternguard, no Tycho.

2. Take out the DA. Useless allies that don't add anything to the force other than a 2 LS Typhoons, which die to a stiff breeze.

The Devs are..... Subpar. If you take weapons at all, take something other than ML. In 5th, they were king. Now... too mediocre.

The Baals stick out as prime targets. If you're gonna have Baals, you might as well go hybrid mech.

Sticking to a similar theme to your list, heres a thought:

Gotcha, thanks. Well, I wasn't really going for meq, sort of trying to build an all around list rather than any kind of spammed list.

I feel like the DA allies being described as useless is a bit harsh since the cheaper units allow me to purchase more upgrades on BA units without losing shots/units to draw fire away from the others. The cheap libby and prescience itself is worth it but pair it with the whirly (which doesn't need to be 'fast') and sniper scouts (which don't need the red thirst) and I'm saving 35pts on the Libby, 20 pts on the scouts, and 25 on the whirlwind. In regards to the speeders I'd be saving 30. While they are pretty soft targets, I like their mobility and their ability to support through anti-troop (frag/HB) or anti-armor (krak). If they happen to be around the libby, yet again, they're another option for prescience.

I hear you on the low troop count....was planning to hold the 5 man combat squadded no melta/sgt squads out of range and out of LOS until late and use them to grab/contest objectives similar to arks in nec armies, et. al.
