Usually I would say that another variant would be better than the Vanquisher, but in a GK list it just seems to fill a hole that the army normally can't fill. Leman Russ and Armoured Fist stay behind Aegis and camp, GKSS goes after objectives, Paladins + Dreadknight go hunting/disturbing.

I would not put the halberd on the searge/justicar, because he usuall dies first (especially if a psi-power goes south).

Despite that, I really like the build and I'd like to see that on the table

That's pretty much the reason why he carries the halberd. It's only 5 points and gives him a small (yes very small, but hey I had the points left) chance to win a challenge and survive.

How are you getting 2 Lascannons on the Vanquisher? Why are you only taking 1? Is this a 1k list?

Sorry, typo, Only 1 Lascannon. Added points, and point total (1500).

I only take one Leman Russ, because it's only there for AAV dutys, and a bit of long range fire support. More than one would be A. overkill, B.mean I would have to drop something else.
