Hi guys!
A lot of talk about the new Space Marine codex, and just for funzies I thought I'd start putting together a new list. Of course, not all of the points values are certain yet, but from rumours and estimates, this should be pretty close to 1500 points. The army will just be one cohesive homebrew chapter, but for the sake of having an assault squad as troops, I'm technically allying in some BA.
RAVEN GUARD
Cpt. Shrike
10 vanguard vets w. JP and 70 points worth of upgrades
5 man Tac squad w. grav gun + razorback
5 man Tac squad w. grav gun + razorback
5 sniper scouts with cloaks and missile launcher
5 sniper scouts with cloaks and missile launcher
3 bikes + MM attack bike
ALLIED BA
Librarian w. jump pack – shield of sanguinius + blood lance
10 Assault marines w. jump packs, 2 flamers, power lance + combat shield sergeant
Storm Raven
The idea would be that Shrike joins the BA assault squad, giving it scout and shroud. Then the BA libby joins the VV, receiving scout and shroud. He uses his psychic powers to give them all a 5+ save (becoming 4+ w. shroud). Before first turn begins you have shrike, a libby, 20 marines, 2 full razorbacks and a bike squad all sitting on the middle of the table, whilst a couple of sniper squads hold home objectives or hide in centre-field cover.
The SR is just there to bring some aerial support, and pick up any troops that need a ride. Overall my main fear is that I'll get blasted away before I get into combat (as with any CC army in 6th edition), and also that when I get there, I may not have sufficient answers to particular units (if I charge into CC specialists, am I just impaling myself? And am I able to deal with mech/flyers sufficiently?) I don't play tournaments at all, just very casual, but I'd like to at least be respectably competitive.
