After playing ork speed freaks for quite a while, I've been thinking of giving the exact opposite a try. So here's my first attempt at a Deathwing (mostly) all-terminator army. I know DW is not quite as competitive as it used to be, but I still want my army to hold on its own in a semicompetitive environment. Any advice will be welcome.

HQ
Belial
Librarian in Terminator armor (warlord)
DW Command Squad: Company Champion, 1 CML-TH/SS, 4 Bolters/fists, 1 Standard of Fortitude

Troops
DW Terminators: Sgt with Stormbolter/PW, 3 Bolter/Fists, 1 AC
DW Terminators: Sgt with Stormbolter/PW, 2 Bolter/Fists, 1 Bolter/Chainfist, 1 AC
DW Terminators: Sgt with Stormbolter/PW, 3 Bolter/Fists, 1 Bolter/Chainfist, 1 CML

Elites
Venerable Dread - 2 TL Autocannons
Venerable Dread - 2 TL Autocannons

n/a
Techmarine - bolter, servoarm, PFG

1730 pts, with 20 free points to spend (was thinking on servoarm servitors for the Techmarine...)

Strengths - Resilience, decent dakka for the model count.
Weaknessess - Demolisher Cannons, Prism tanks, sniper weapons...

Without belial or azrael you have 0 troops choices. Belial unlocks terms as troops

Ty, already taken

My idea was to have him join one of the troop squads to benefit from his nonscatter deep strike ability.

Or perhaps I should give him the Command Squad to drop the FNP banner wherever its needed most?

Anyways, I'm editing the post for clarity.

What is your plan for the techmarine? stay back and give a 4++ to the dreads? The standard of fortitude is a waste of points. give the unit an apothocary instead. the range of the banner isnt worth it for the extra points you can get another term for the difference in banner vs the apothocary. DW is very hard to play though very fun. best of luck

Exactly. I fear those two dreads will be high priority targets, especially before the brunt of the army arrives via deepstrike. My plan is to use the techmarine to keep them safe from lascannons and deepstriking melta.

The banner follows a similar logic. 6th forces us to have half our points on the table by turn one, so my plan was to make the first squads to deploy able to withstand the enemy onslaught until reinforcements arrive. Problem is, the banner is expensive and forces me to deploy in a tight 12" bubble. I'll probably take the apothecary instead.

Thanks for the replies!
