Does anyone know if there are any free and open source MDF terrain drawing to use and edit.

My friends father has a cutter that does this and we wanted to try making one. I seem to remember Infinity have some on the forums or download section but i cant find any.

Are you looking for a vector file to run through a CAM router or laser engraver...or something else?

I've got a bunch of CAM files in SVG format that I use for buildings, but normally you need some specific information about the machine being used in order to make good, useable files out of them. Even lasers have a kerf that needs to be considered and making minor adjustments to all of the various areas the kerf comes into play really ends up being an entirely new file...so not too much help.

That said...if you want to make those adjustments, you can use PDO format files and export as a DXF. From there, adjust for material thickness, kerf, remove tabs and only use flat parts (no fold lines...well, you can fold, but that is more advanced). Save out in the format needed for your machine and the software controller (some use colored lines to specify depth of cut for through cuts versus etching, others use line weight).

If you have something specific in mind, let me know and I will see what I have.

thats exactly what i was looking for. i am in the process of getting the info for the machine. Just found out my friends dad has a machine that does that and would let us use it to make some buildings. Any sort of file would be cool to have to test out.

Really i am looking for a building that stacks.

Thanks for the help
