I'm calling my O-12 Nightshade/Azakir Halgriv in Infiltration gear done! Painting him was a ton of fun. I hope I did the mini justice as I really like it. It was love at first sight when I saw it online, I haven't felt this way for a mini since I saw the Autarch with swooping hawk wings, fusion pistol and power sword miniature, lol.

I need to read up on the impact of The Old World FAQ and start gluing arms onto my dwarfs.

After finishing my Nightshade, who I was a little paralysed in deciding what mini to do next. So, I did some tiding of my hobby space, until I made the executive decision to work on a Swiss Guard I got in my Infinity Code One - PanOceania Booster Pack Alpha. Pretty happy with him so far and he's fun to paint, too.

For our just begun Armageddon Crusade I've stripped & re-base coated 2 units of my RT/2e era Squat infantry.
Also replaced several broken lasguns.
They were looking a bit poorly after 30ish years....

Tonight I'll get their torsos/legs re-painted.
Then their arms/weapons/heads Tuesday.
They'll march into battle this weekend with fresh uniforms.

Made more progress on my Swiss Guard, enjoying working on him. I also assembled some Infinity buildings (which wasn't as enjoyable) and set it up as a battlefield.

Almost finished with repainting 2 infantry units of my Squats.
Next up are 15 weapons crew.

I finally found the instruction video for my Battle Systems Gothic Ruins on their web site, so finally got around to assembling the kit. Pretty fun.

Still not really painting....but I did spend time assembling this.



The Manticore itself went together pretty well. Only a few issues and gaps to fill, and even then nothing too crazy. Mostly just some lines I smoothed out as I imagine I'm gunna be dry brushing this bad boy a lot.

Now as for the RIDER....well, Looking at it closely it looks like hes just sitting on the Manticore and gripping its main to hang on. Also there is a significant gap and no clear place where he is suppose to "connect" to the manticore. So I basically pinned it down and just stuffed the gaps with Greenstuff and sculpted hair as best I could.

Will I get it painted soon? Probably not, but at least I can add it to my prep pile.

Made more progress on my Swiss Guard. Need a different colour to make him pop a bit more.

No painting today, just decided to playtest my new Grimdark Future: Firefight team based off my sci fi novel's main characters and faction as well as the Infinity buildings I've recently assembled. It was the main characters Azakir, and Sela, with Sheriff Valson and two squads of militia men vs another army I made in the Army Forge Studio FUTURE ROBOTS FROM THE FUTURE! Played two games and had a ton of fun. The first game victory went to The Robots, it was close. The 2nd game went to Azakir and company, and it wasn't even close 8 points to the robot's 4.

Got my first Spiky Chaos model ever from the Warhammer shop today as the Model of tge Month.

He's a Khorne cultist from Kill Team.



One of these days they're going to hand out a Primaris Lieutenant, and I'll be there!

I didn't do too much today. On a whim, I decided to make some militia and one for a character, so seven total for my new Grimdark Future: Firefight team, using a mixture of Stargrave kits including the Scavengers and Crew kits. Before assembling them I mixed up some Milliput which is old as hell, so tough to mix, so much so it hurt my hand (only a little bit) Then I put it on their bases into small hills to elevate them as the bases they come with are flat and the minis are already small so I like to make them bigger. I would use GW or taller bases, but 25mm bases have become precious to me so I'm cheap with them. I also plan on using their bases to replicate Azakir's here...

Because, they're all on the same team and to practise using my Scale 75 Winter basing kit which I'm looking forward to. I used to hate basing, but now I quite enjoy it! I wanted to start repainting the mini that represented another character from my novel Sela (on the left with dual pistols if it isn't obvious, lol) as she's a mess and the miniature was meant to represent an NPC/PC from my long gone Dark Heresy/Rogue Trader campaign, but ran out of time. Also wanna rebase her, too.

I've been busy lately with the earlier mentioned 300pt Grimdark Future: Firefight based on the characters of my Sci fi Seven Samurai inspired novel I'm working on and I'm calling them (mostly) finished. From left to right, Sela Orrel, Azakir Halgriv, and Sheriff Valson leading two three man squads of Militia Men. Had a lot of fun assembling, painting and basing these guys!

Painting Thor variants for Marvel Crisis Protocol and likely basing some Dusk Models for Warmachine that I cleaned and assembled during the week.

Cant do much atm but might try to Prime the Resin printed Baneblade proxy ive had sitting in a box for a while

Started and almost finished this Cyberpunk ninja dude today. It's the main character of my novel Azakir Halgriv wearing his full infiltration suit (represented when I give him Defence +1 in Grimdark Future or GFF) Although, I did begin working on his base a few days back, so a bit of a lie, but he's not glued down yet, so technically I'm not, I guess, lol. Also have to put the fake water stuff in the little stream in front of him. I am very happy with Azakir here so far! Still got to finish his visor and sword. It took me a while to decide which colour goes where (Prussian Blue from Scale 75, and Dark Jade by Pro Acryl which are his signature colours, apparently) but I'm having a lot of fun painting him.

Finishing up 5 Sword Brethren to complete my 2k list for Lone Star Open in August. Bases and capes are done.

I finished a new Stargrave mini for another 300pt Grimdark Future: Firefight list. This one was a medically trained militia man. I also made more progress on Azakir Halgriv in his Infiltration gear as his base. Putting the water stuff in the stream in front of him and attempting to fix up some of the light transitions on his suit. Also finally glued him to his base. He's close to being finished, just have to work on his visor and sword.

Deciding how to paint my Rattling teams in my current Crusade force.

It wasn't on the to-do list this week. But the little buggers definitely earned their paint this afternoon.
Three full squads, infiltrated into high ruins, all with good lines of fire, combined to take out an enemy Vindicator round 1.
And then over the following turns (including several cases of Overwatch!) they proceeded to kill Vulkan & decimate the ranks of Terminators, Aggressors, assault Intercessors, + ALMOST claimed a Storm Raven (1W left).

I bought some 3rd party decals for my HH Knights that will look exactly like my 40k Knights.

I'm going to say Azakir Halgriv in his full infiltration/battle suit finished (although I did do some work on him after taking these photos) I am very happy with how he turned out. I also made more progress on my PanOceania Swiss Guard and began base painting another mini for a character in my Sci fi Seven Samurai novel, the ex-blackops soldier Gelt Folsk who I made in Hero Forge and had 3d printed.

I assembled two more Stargrave militia men a 500pt list of my Grimdark Future Firefight Army based on my army I made in Army Forge Studio for the characters from my novel. I also applied the Milliput to their bases. Then I went and began painting the other new addition for the list, one of the main characters, Folsk Gelt. Before painted his blond hair, I realised he looked a bit like Chris Redfield from RE5, lol. I wanted to finish him tonight as the kid's game club is back on in a couple of days.

Finished up a GFF 500pt team made from my Army Forge Studio custom made army The Crew of the Orrel and Company. Which means I finished two Stargrave minis, one with a for my militia men, the Infinity PanOceanian Swiss Guard I've been working on for a while now, and the earlier posted Folsk Gelt. Azakir and Sela still lead the list.

Did stuff of a random variety.

Another shock trooper for Trench Crusade, not 100% sold on him yet, may darken the metal of the SMG and may apply a drab paint to the armour, we'll see.



Did a jousting dummy for Hairfoot Jousting:



And some quick and dirty 'Mechs, mostly knocked out in rapid succession to serve as future mook / opposition for our upcoming campaign.

With that, hit my self-imposed "forty models before the end of September" goal, so I can start work on my Gundam come October with a clear conscience. 😅
