So Im going for a competitive BT list that is CC focused using LRs as my delivery system. Most armies can deal with a Landraider but in the current meta most will struggle against 2 (Centurions might make this redundant ). I think my bad match ups are Trip Dreadknights and perhaps Khorne Dogs or other horde assault lists (which are basically dead in 6th). Here goes:

Chapter Master: AA, TH, Shield Eternal 230
Chapter Master: Burning Blade, SS, AA 220

6 Honourguard: 3 Power Mauls, 2 Power Axes, Power Sword (on champ) 160
5 Honour guard: 3 Power Mauls, 2 Power Axes, Chapter Banner 160

Crusader Squad: 5 neophytes, Sword Brethren w Power Maul, Power axe, LR Crusader w MM 420

5 Scouts: Shotguns 55

Landraider Redeemer: MM 250
Landraider Redeemer: MM 250

So 3 LRs charging at the heart of the enemy. 2 power house combat characters and 2 decent Honourguard squads each pumping out 24+ attacks on the charge plus whatever the Characters do. Burning blade CM goes with banner squad so that's 6 AP2 S7 attacks on the charge. Mauls on most of the squad characters due to rending in a challenge. Might be better with swords due to rerolls to wound?

I just tried a list similar to this at 2k and got pooped on today. I admit, it might have been the largest rock to my scissors I've ever got smashed with, but it was brutal.

He was running Eldar/DEldar and had a lot of lances, but hey, that's the meta, Eldar and Tau. That's all you see currently (pre-SM release).

Anyway, BT can't get Dozer blades on LR anymore and that just kills it for me. Relying on a single die for 400+ pts worth of model to get into combat is too risky. I don't think I will be using LR for a long, long time. But that's just me. I'm considering going back to Rhino Rush with 1-3 pods to support. But that's just me.

As for your personal list, not enough scoring potiential and you only have 3 "cc-oriented" squads. None of which can hold their own against other armies truly cc-oriented troops. Yes, the honor guard have 2+ and power weapons, they will hurt, but their numbers will dwindle and when you look at the list, you literally have 3 LRs and 3 units. At 1850, you simply don't have enough turns to kill all the enemy's models/MSU. He can simply spread out on objectives and win the war of attrition.


Taking that many points on HQ's hurts the list more, you could honestly, take out one and take another LR if you wanted to. Those 4-5 attacks on the charge isn't going to make or break-up your combats. The number of threats you have and the damage they can cause is way to low. Even after you disembark, you only have 6 threats. 3 infantry squads + HQ in each, and 3 LRs. That's it. At this point, no tactics in the world can help you, it's purely RPS at that point.

This list with make some lists sweat and make other lists laugh. My money is on the second if you're taking this somewhere competitive. YMMV.

Personally, I'm having a really hard time finding benefits to BT lists. I have over 2500 pts of BT atm, and I'm strongly considering selling them. Currently, I'm using "count-as" Iron Hands at 1350 and Sallies at 2k.

Sucks though, I just got done buying custom "Iron Cross" dice too

Too few bodies, especially scoring bodies. You're basically going to have to try to table your opponent every game to have any hopes of winning, and I don't think what you're bringing has a chance of tabling... well, anyone.
