Rocket Launches and the Effect on Wildlife

An interesting article, but there is a picture in it of a frog that got launched by rocket blast, and while I am sure that created a post-frog existence, it conjures all sorts of cartoon images and sound effects and I can't stop giggling.

Spoiler:

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.

Frogs/toads are actually remarkably resilient and it could have survived provided it was not incinerated.

When we get bad storms here we have had frogs/toads land on our roof and jump off the peak of the house then just hop away.

You're saying it rains frogs in your area? You don't happen to live near the Nile, do you?

The bat and the birds had it worst, namely because they were incinerated.

No. Southeastern US.

It's not so much that it "rains frogs" but we get the occasional tornado that sucks them up and you end up with the odd frog/toad on a roof. Usually they die because the crows absolutely love having food delivered to their favorite perches but I have seen at least four jump from the roof and survive to go hopping off.

OMFG I laughed my ass off at seeing that frog.

Imagine what was going through its tiny mind when it happened.

The muppets from space are making a sequel!

1. Go to FLGS on a 40K game night.
2. Announce to no one in particular "I have over 10,000 points of Space Marines".
3. Sit back and watch as some 30-ish Neckbeard who still lives with his parents not only disputes your claim, but goes on to describe his 30,000 points of Blood Angels and how he has been playing since Rogue Trader days... And yet you will have never seen him either play 40K or that army.
4. From here, you have several options. Continue the conversation, or just end it. Either way, I guarantee you will waste 1+ hour of your life talking to this guy. Have fun!
