So I convinced my friend to give 40k a try and we've got models for two 500 point lists. One SM and one CSM. Here are the two lists. Does anyone have any recommendations for where to next with them as we expand?

We went with no vehicles/flyers/MC/etc since we were doing 500 point games, now I'd like to expand to the 750-800 point range and follow the standard FoC.

Adding a heavy is probably a good choice, Obliterators, Havocs, Devastators.

Ok, now that we have that out of the way, real advice. I would avoid the drake for now as its friendly and low points games. Some bikes/spawn/raptors would make a fine addition to your CSM army. Each has their +/- but they all add quick units that I think CSM really need on the board. In terms of most for your money I believe you get more raptors for the least $ (5 for 30ish, vs 3 for 40 for bikers, and 2 for 40 for spawns) but that isn't to say they are the best.

Sorry no real advice for the SM, although for parody maybe the equivalents for SM, but bear in mind that because any 2 units are the equivalent doesn't mean they are equal. CSM Termies are good for suicide runs at 3 guys, versus a SM Termies which might have different minimum squads and options.

side note- I'd convert your CSM to NM
