As the title; is there a list of the upcoming models that will be done in plastic? If yes, where might I find it? My FLGS is without know and I prefer to get some plastic models to metal if I can.

Thanks a bunch

Any currently metal infantry are candidates for becoming plastic. The more popular the more likely.

Some models will likely never be plastic, such as Warcasters and solos. They aren't sold in high enough volume to justify the extra expense of plastic molds.

And really, PP plastics leave a lot to be desired with the quality. Mold lines and miscasts are common. Metal is preferable from a quality and durability standpoint.

Only models that will ever be plastic are interchangeable beast/jack bodies, high volume infantry, and warcasters sold in the battleboxes.

There isn't a list as far as I know. And the people that are on the rumor pulse are mostly concerned with new releases, not metal-plastic conversions.

Not sure about a list as far as plastic goes, but you can see all the upcoming releases on the PP website.

I do know that the Cryx Bane Thralls are being released in plastic in a 10 man box set and they dropped the price from $80 to $50.

Now if only IFP would get the same treatment, along with combining the Black Dragon bits. Paying $10 a model for Black Dragons is just silly.

Agreed.... But then I would look down on folks who didnt go through the "initiation" of replacing all the pikes with brass rod like I had to...

Given how wibbly PP's long thin plastic tends to be I'd still replace it with brass.

They may as well cast plastic IFP with separate spearheads and butts and pack them with brass rods from one of their pinning kits.

that's quite strange considering that the new ROS infantry are more than the metals.

also I have to ask if people would pay more PP plastics if they removed mold lines for you.

Are mold lines a problem on plastic troops? They're not too bad on the jacks and casters in the starter packs.

They can be. I've heard, and seen, some horror stories. Not just mold lines, more like cliffs.

And the PP plastic is really hard to get straight if a thin piece is bent out of shape. Its not a simple case of hot water and some pressure, its lots of hot water, pressure, blood, sweat, tears, and wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Its particularly bad for things like swords which you can't just replace with a brass rod.

I noticed my Stryker's sword is bent near the end. Was thinking about how to deal with it. Grrr!

I still wake up in a cold sweat at night sometimes with memories of the CoC starter box drifting through my head. Let's just say it was not the best first impression PP could have given me.

Go on -- I want details ... as I'm thinking of getting that set.

I heard the biggest problem is that there are lots of little fiddly bits plus hard to reach places where the lines can end up.

Plus the inherent complexity of the models themselves.

Looking at an unboxing vid, I counted 15 parts for the vector before the sprue. A Cygnaran light jack is seven and a bonejack is four.

Yeah, even the most complicated Menoth jack(Avatar) was only 10ish pieces.

I guess they want you to get in-character while modeling.

Here's a rather rambling unboxing review I put up some time ago. Just keep in mind I'm a pretty novice hobyist so these things might not be as bad as I'm saying they are.

The lack of instructions really messed with me coming from GW. They are actually really easy to put together since they shape code the leg slots to only attach one way. Just kind of intimidating to see right off.

That's it? I was sort of expecting more since if my memory isn't off my Phoenix had 17 or 19 parts and the light myrmidons weren't too far off that mark, either.

I really need to stay away from the 40K forums.

Man, I don't recall my Ret jacks being that complicated ... sure there are a lot of parts (arms in three pieces, sigh) in the stand-alone kit but that's mostly because you have parts for three builds. The count that I did of the heavy vector was straight out of the starter kit.

The COC jacks also look kind of fragile to me, especially the legs.

They remind me of old-timey furniture, which is pretty disturbing in a sense.

Not only that, but the COC jacks (maybe most of the faction as a whole) look like 20's art deco, also something that came straight out of metropolis.

Although I love their playstyle, but I might try and convert them to look Cyberpunk-ish if I did start them up....

I'd think some kind of ultra-steampunky would work better.

Most likely. Although I am entertained by the thought of having Tachikoma-like Warjacks in my Warmachine. Just something silly I know, but I thought I give a go.
