Well this is kind of a weird list. I haven't pulled my phoenix lords out in a really long time and I wanted to see how my favorite two could perform in their prime.

Some thoughts behind the list: This is a very aggressive list, as most of my lists are. Karandras infiltrates the guardians to get as close as possible to an important unit and rush it. Karandras and his unit get stealth and shrouded as long as the warlock gets conceal off. Fuegan and spiritseer stick with the guardians for ablative wounds, infantry killing power, and fuegan makes them fearless. Spiritseer and warlocks are there for making the guardians much more versatile, all of the powers on runes of battle are useful. Plus I had ignored for some reason that spiritseers can roll on telepathy so depending on what the warlock rolls he can get psychic shriek to combo with horrify. Everything else is meant to be dakka supporting these two units pretty much. I'm hoping that between karandras' unit and fuegan's, I'll be able to force my opponents movement one way or another and capitalize on it.

I've been heavily considering switching out the guardians for storm guardians but I feel that being able to hit the enemy with a large volume of fire on turn 1 will help even though they are a little worse in CC and don't get fusion guns.

All I'm hoping is that my ideas for this list aren't too far stretched to be a fairly competitive list. Can you please help me clean it up?

One idea to consider is running your phoenix lords in a dire avenger squad with an exarch with a sthimmersheild an the 5++ from the shimmersheild confers to the whole unit which would give your phoenix lords a nice invul.

I've found the shimmershield to be overcosted for its utility. I'm gonna try & see how I like 20guardians with a conceal lock today. I hope that the extra mans with a 5+ cover in the open will work better

I agree about keeping them as regular guardian defenders. +1 attacks in assault are not worth losing the extra shuirken shot. Storm guardians have nice special toys, but the catapult is a fine weapon and dead effective in mass.

Conceal is nice when you get it off, but warlocks are so fragile and unreliable with Ld8

Shimmershields are usually not needed, but giving a phoenix lord(particularly fuegan) a 5++ is nice. Fuegan gets a 2+/5++ with FNP, and he can split his fire from the squad so he roasts a tank while avengers gun down bodies. Something to consider.
