I plan on testing this list...but I was wondering how well Centurion Devastator Squads have been doing in play? I know Grav weaponry has its uses, but, was wondering how well it goes with the list. Now, the CAS, they come with flamers but I don't want to pay for a LR as a delivery system since thats the only transportation they can take. Man, wish you could DS or DP them in. Just curious...

Now as you can see, I have very specific tasks for each unit. I was trying to do a "all-comers" list. Now I know you can't really plan for everything but holding my own and losing is ok with me as long as I leave a few band-aides on the opposing army..lol. Anyhow, I know I could make several changes but this also includes a lot of the models I already have access to and just need to paint.
This is what I did have before I made this list:
2 Vindicators in place of my Centurion Devastator Squad
1 Stormtalon in place of my Assault Squad

Just wondering if the changes I made were to the best of the list or I made some mistakes and need to go back and add these units back. Again, was trying to utilize the models I currently have. I liked the new Centurion models a lot so I don't mind buying those in place of 2 vindicators.

vulkan cant charge when he arrives so thats a fail.

take out the combis on the sternguards and add more men.

ge ta storm raven and comand squad put them in there and assult them with vulkan.

no need for the drop pods on the taq

put melt gun and magna graple on iron clad that can get you first blood

Hmmm, so most Sternguard I have seen all have combi's but more would be nice to have.

So replace the sternguard with a Command Squad?

I wanted to take the chance of losing the Tac Squad with the locator...instead of trying to drop the Ironclad and lose that. Am I thinking along the right lines here or off base?

Melta-gun I can add, not seing anything called a magna graple...or am I missing something in the codex?

The lists with lot's of Sternguard combi's are probably from the 5th edition codex where the combi's were 5 points cheaper. The extra 5 points per weapon is a bit more heavy on points especially in a 1500 point list. You have a lot of melta so adding more dakka via their specialty rounds would compliment things more. Also, for your drop pods it might also be good to have more flamers - say take a couple flamers or heavy flamers in the sternguard and drop all combi-weapons. Any points extra can go into more sternguard.

The other easy change is to drop the combi-melta from your sergeants and take a regular melta gun (or flamer) instead. A regular melta gun gives you >1 melta shot out of the squad albeit at the cost of some dakka when you want the extra two bolter shots.

Made a few slight adjustments, I recently picked up a Predator, so I wanted to get that in there for the points with triple Lascannons...

Ok, I made changes based on the fact that some are using DPs. It didn't make sense to put Heavy Weapons on anyone in those because they would only be able to snap shoot in the phase after they arrive. Sternguard will take out any vehicles that I don't want around and/or pin down some TCs. My death star will be the LR/Cent/Vulkan. I am trying to utilize the Chapter Tactics and Vulkans rules.
