Greetings Fellow Dakka's.
I am looking for some thoughts on a planned Grey Knights list for a local Singles Tourny.
HQ
Brotherhood Champion - Brain Mines, Psybolt - 115 points
Troops
Strike Squad (5 man) - Psycannon, Psybolt, Justicar NFW MC, Razorback (T/L HB, psybolt) - 185 points
Strike Squad (6 man) - Psycannon, Psybolt, Justicar NFW MC, Razorback (T/L HB, psybolt) - 205 points
Strike Squad (6 man) - Psycannon, Psybolt, Justicar NFW MC, Razorback (T/L HB, psybolt) - 205 Points
Strike Squad (6 man) - Psycannon, Psybolt, Justicar NFW MC, Razorback (T/L HB, psybolt) - 205 points
Fast Attack
Interceptor Squad (10 man) - 2 x Psycannon, Psybolt, justicar NDH - 310 points
Heavy Support
Dreadknight - Teleport Pack, Hvy Psycannon, Hvy Incinerator - 275 points
General tactic is Champion joins the smaller Strike Squad in their RB, the rest mounted in theirs, Interceptors and DK shunt hard behind enemy lines while the Razors blitz forward 18". Interceptors and DK harasse the enemy rear lines while the Razors deploy the troops Turn 2. razorbacks then go on general trouble making/objective blocking.

Hmmm, maybe take out a strike squad and get a hammer squad of termies to really hit hard. Or those 6 man squads are the exact same amount as a stormraven. At 1500pts people will bring flyers and as far as I can see you have no anti air.

ADL with Quad Guns are extremely prevalent at my local club, and fliers I find are sometimes best ignored, especially given the objective point nature of 6th.
I can always use the psybolted twin linked HB Razorbacks as emergency AA support.

Ah, I see. Well apart from that it looks prettysolid then. Me still thinks a termy unit would be a good addition

I find GK Terminators in small numbers dont have the surviveability to justify their points. Especially if you want to tool them up for a specific job. Add to that costs of banners and heavy weapons.
I am leaning to tooled out strike squads more than the equivilant points worth of GK termies. Automatically Appended Next Post: The tournament I will be competing in will have a nice even spread of armies, and will be with random missions and deployment.
Can anyone see any missions that I may be weak on? With 4 scoring units (5 depending on the mission) and two units perfect for linebreaking I think I'm reasonably balanced for random missions.

Yes. But then as GK I was always going to struggle against Green Tide style Ork armies. Last one I played against was a Wazdakka bike list, just over flowing with bikes and oh so many Looters.
People may moan about Orks being BS2, but when you are rolling 30 Str 7shots, and massive biker mobz with twin linked relentless heavy bolters (or the Ork equivilent), hitting on 5's does sound all that bad.

Grey Knight Purgator firing around corners

I just havetwo perplexities:
the first is dreadknight's heavy psycannon, fow what i got, the incinerator is more popular (and personally, even if it's less performant, I kind of like the psilencer volume of fire)
the second is the small squads with psybolt ammunitions... they're quite pricy... I think I'd rather make 10 men teams, combat-squading them
But then, maybe they are just personal opinions and I admit I'm not an expert of competitive builds.

I wouldn't take the psilencer if you paid me, its an awful weapon. The combination of the Hvy Psycannon and Hvy Incinerator are perfect for doing away with those pesky Fire Warriors/Nercons/Imperial Guard/Eldar/Dark Eldar hiding in behind the ever so present ADL everyone seems to be taking.
I normally run with 10 man Strikes so the cost of Psybolt ammo per model is reduced, but the 6 man squads fit better with thr rapid movement style I am aiming for with the Razorbacks.

Well it turns out that all I am doing is gifting my opponents with easy First Blood (either the Razorbacks are popped early on or the small Strike Squads are shot to pieces) and I can't hold objectives long due to the small size of the Strike Squads. The stars are the Inteceptors and teleporting Dreadknight, but word is getting around the test games before the tournament and they are getting turned into bullet magnets.
Also the lack of strong ranged firepower is hurting (lack of AP3 or lower).

I love the tactics with the Interceptors and DKnight. In light of that I'd question the usefullness of the Heavy Psycannon on the DKnight. You're only going to get one turn of shooting(generally) there...why not put those 40pts into beefin up another unit?
I can't deny the need for all the Razorback guns but 5-man units in an AV11 tin can are just not going to last very long.
On top of that : you're actually using the rzrbacks to transport which really cuts into their "tank/shooting" duties usually.
Making at least one SS a 10-man unit or swapping out for terminators(if only to just squat on an objective) might be more useful. Especially since you could always choose to use them aggressively if the situation calls for it (deep-strike, reckless charge, etc).
My personal inclination after 6th ed started barrelling downhill on roller-skates was to go all-rhino's and/or Terminators.
You're saving points on transports which can go into more men - or Deep-striking where you need to be.
There's just way too much ap3/blast/ignores cover these days.
and you hit it on the head with Gifting your opponents 1st blood.
Sad but true.

Dreadnaughts with double TL autocannons are a awnser to flyers, tanks, and even strongholds so maybe they are worth considering.
Also a vindicare will solve most problems if he can stay alive.
I'm a fan of deepstriking terminators and paladins a grandmaster can make paladins scoring without the points for draigo.
A somewhat alphastrike list:
Hq-GKGM, psycannon, psycho nades, servo skull x1=230pts
Hq-coteaz =100pts
Elites- paladins x10 with psycannons x4 narthecium and any combo of NFW you want these guys get turned into scoring by the GKGM =705pts
Troops- GKTS x5 psycannon x1 =225pts
Troops- GKTS x5 psycannon x1 =225pts
Comes to a total of 1455pts and will kill what ever you chose.

Razorbacks are too easy to kill for first blood, so I dropped them myself
And general consensus is that psybolt on that small of squad its not worth it for the strikes

So played this list against a friends Necron force...Tabled by turn 3.
Lost 3 of the 4 razorbacks on turn 1.
Turn 2, two croissant of death arrive and moped up a fair portion of the Strikes.
Dreadknight and Interceptors did the most damage, but wilted by turn 3 under weight of fire.
I think by the end of the game I had managed to kill (outright after IBB rolls) 7 Necron Warriors.
