Half of me wants to rail against another business poncing off of the desires of gamers and wonders why thy didn't just gets loan the other half of me really wants to go.

There's the 'Geek Cafe' in Glasgow, a few doors down the street from GW Glasgow. I though that was a pretty neat idea. - They've got a bunch of board games and comics to lend out to folk, plus assorted themed film nights and competitions.

You should see the Jeckyll & Hyde club in NYC.
Or the Ninja restaurant for that matter.

A gamer themed club might work better than you think.

I'm sure that a pub such as this will work well, or at least be viable, in just about any major city.

This would be an awesome idea, I agree it could work well in any city.

You could even sell paints at the bar and basic stationary, small consumable items that people regularly buy.

There are loads of pubs based around football which works very well for revenues, and nerds have a lot of disposable income and often a little short of places to socialize.

You'd have a hugely loyal set of regulars too.

This is one idea definitely worth yoinking.

We've a geek tavern here in Montgomery. They've plenty of board and card games on hand for play, host cosplay and Nerf nights, and have 3-4 each of 360 and PS3, as well as a selection of older consoles.

It's a fun place, plenty of regulars, who are really friendly and welcoming.
