Well, I feel like posting a bit of a rant, it's mostly my fault but still I'm sure others on here can sympathise

So it's 21:30ish here in the UK, and I'm assembling my 200pt force for some infinity action in the next few weeks (for anyone interested, it's a custodier lt, sin eater with MK12, zero with emauler, 2 morlocks (1 chain, 1 combi), 3 moderators (2 combi, 1 spitfire, 1 MSR) and a lunokhod with BS and akrylat-kanone).

Anyway, back on topic, I'm trying to reposition the legs on the lunokhod in order to do away with those awful base extenders (why didn't CB just put it on a 60mm, or pose it better ). Unfortunately, a combination of inadequate lighting, wobbly work surface and the fact that I have all the fine motor control and modelling skill of a shovel, what was once 2 pieces is now around 7, and the joints aren't thick enough to be pinned (no drill bit is small enough).

So, first of all, I'm all curses and rude words about the fact that I junked a £15 model, and secondly, I kind of wanted to see if the other Dakkanauts who play Infinity have experienced similar lamentations, as I'm going to assume I'm not the only one that hates them, and also not the only one that had a nightmare trying to find a solution...

and possibly scrounge some tips on how to get around those base extenders

I have one remote which HAD base extenders (attached to its feet). I clipped them off and very carefully bent the legs to get them to fit on the base instead.

I have been doing this stuff for several decades, though - so knowing the right amount of force is one of those things you learn (I grew up with metal figures and plastic wargaming figures are much of a johnny come lately for me).

I have managed to pin legs together (I have a selection of bits going down to 0.4mm) but at that size, you have to be exceptionally careful or you WILL break the bits.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

I also broke my Kameel legs repeatedly when trying to get rid of the base extensions. I gave up and went with them eventually.
