I am planning on meeting up with some close friends soon and I am looking for advice on which of my armies I should bring. The group (8 people) is very competitive with a variety of armies including Tau and Eldar so there are going to be some rough games. I own 2 complete lists for both White Scars and my Daemons which now includes Be'lakor. So which list should I bring? This meetup is practice for a tournament so whatever list I bring is the list I also want to bring to a tournament.

-Chaos Daemons:
HQ:
Fateweaver
Lord of Change
+ ML3
+ Greater/exalted reward(grimoire)

Troops:
11 Plaguebearers

Well, I'd also go with White Scars. Looks more solid to me.

So White Scars for sure? Is the Daemon list bad or is the Scars list just really good?

Is it possible to make a Daemons list that is more competitive than this Scars list? If so please give an example. (I have a lot of Daemons models so i can probably make it)

The Scars list is way better.

For the Daemons/CSM list, I don't think you have enough killy stuff. You basically have Fateweaver, Be'Lakor, and a Heldrake to do your killing. Once they kill those, what do you have? 43 scoring models who's only job is to not die. The bike list is scary, but the Daemon/CSM list is not.

If you want to run competitive Daemons then I would just build a Screamerstar list. Something like:

Fateweaver
Herald w/ Disc & Grimoire - Flickering Fire & Divination
Herald w/ Disc & Lvl 3 - Flickering Fire & Divination
Herald w Disc & Lvl 3 - Flickering Fire & Divination

11 Pink Horrors
11 Pink Horrors

6 Screamers

Winged Daemon Prince of Tzeentch
Winged Daemon Prince of Tzeentch

It's fluffy (mono-Tzeentch) and it wrecks face. Everyone loves 2+ re-rollable inv saves!

EDIT: In case you don't know how the Screamerstar works...

The Heralds join the Screamers. When you roll for powers you need to get Prescience and Forewarning. Forewarning gives a 4+ inv to the unit which is increased to a 2+ by the Grimoire (using Fateweaver's re-roll if the Grimoire fails). Tzeentch re-roll all saving throws of a 1. Voila! You have a mobile unit pumping out tons of accurate shots thanks to Flikering Fire and Prescience... all with a 2+ re-rollable inv.

I am familiar with the screamerstar, but is it more competitive than the Scars list in your opinion?

The Screamerstar is a stronger list and can deal more damage, but it also has a HUGE weakness to psychic defense. The Scars list is more balanced but not as powerful.

If I were playing against you in a tournament, I would rather see you deploy Bikes as they would be easier for me to beat. I would go with the Screamerstar if you have the models and you think your opponent's wont be playing Space Wolves or Tyranids.

Quick question. So your playing scars. And you get an upstairs objective.... You can't get it

I'd get a couple of scout squads in personally

So are the Tzeentch DPs mandatory or can you replace one with Be'lakor in an allied detachment? This way Fateweaver gets a 2++ rerollable in cover with invisibility.

Maybe something like this:

Points: 1500
HQ:
Fateweaver
Herald of Tzeentch
+ Exalted reward
+ Disc of Tzeentch
+ Mastery Level 3
x2 Herald of Tzeentch
+ Disc of Tzeentch
+ Mastery Level 3

Troops:
10 Plaguebearers
10 Plaguebearers

Fast Attack:
9 Screamers

Allied CSM
Be'lakor
10 Cultists

Also what's your opinion on the Exalted locus of Conjuration(+1 S to psychic powers in this unit) on one of the Heralds?
