personally I would want to give the assault squad Sargent a power weapon or plasma pistol.... apart from that it sounds pretty good for a semi shooty army list.. I always love sternguard...

Me twoz! Lol there really isn't much they can't handle (barring bale flamers or battle cannons to the face lol)
