I run Iron Warriors Chaos Space Marines and it has crossed my mind that a Daemon Engine (Forgefiend more so than Maulerfiend) would be very fitting in my army. I like how they work, their fluff and their theme. But I have a single most debilitating problem with those models: I think they are ugly as sin.
I know some people consider them to be gorgeous (and they are very detailed sculpts I admit), its just not my cup of tea. I was hoping for something a little more boxy and metallic rather than demi-organic dinosaurs.

So has anyone seen a Daemon Engine conversion or have ideas on how to convert a Forgefiend to be a little more boxy and armored? Kind of like a Defiler but without the whole "giant enemy crab" thingy. I like the looks of the Hades Autocannon on the Forgefiend I do admit but the actual model itself makes me not want to buy and field them.

You can use a Dark Eldar Talos engines with IG Sentinel legs or GK Dreadknight for beefier legs.

i personnaly used those to make Bloodslaugtherers.

I'm enjoying the first one! Dreadknight might be a good option.
