I'm playing in a doubles tournament soon and i will be teaming up with a Chaos list. As i am still new to the game my teammate will be taking more of an aggressive role with his list so i am trying to provide support for him. How does my list look for 1000pts?

Forgive the formatting on this, it was the list he sent me over facebook.

Make sure the Psycannon has the Sword, take 1 Hammer and make the other 3 halberds

Lose the psycannon and all halberds, see if you can get 10 with psybolt.(Psybolt is more necessary here than with the strikes)

So drop the psybolt on GKSS and add it to the Interceptors? Only way to get 10 interceptors is dropping a squad or a dread.

How many points do my changes put you at?

I like to slim lists down instead of build them up.

Only if there are ten, never put psybolt on a unit smaller than 10.

Slim the strikes down to five man with one psycannon, move their psybolt over to the interceptors, and give them the strikes hammer too.

Give the Malleus Terminator a Psycannon.

I would do:

Rad nades to hq.

GKSS down to 5x men and drop all upgrades other then psycannon.

Terminators 2x hammers, 2 halberds, justicar has sword.

Interceptors up to 10x men, 2 psycannons, lose all upgrades other then psybolt ammo, and hammer on justicar.

Are smoke launchers optional on a dread?

Lose them if possible.

Otherwise lose the Interceptor Daemonhammer and take whatever you want with your 5 points...Maybe a MC weapon somewhere.

Right, you'll need to love the hammer...it'll put you at 5 pts under.

You can't write:
This unit costs 200 points
This guy costs 20 points
This wargear costs 2 points.

A 6th ed GK list that doesn't start with Coteaz/Draigo is going to have some serious problems, we sorely lack in the troops department and contesting objectives is how you win the game.

Coteaz is like 15~ bucks, grab one and love it.

If I were to revise your list:
Coteaz 100
GKSSX9 /W Psybolt 200
Rhino 40

Grey Knight Terminator Squad 225pts (5man)
Nemesis Force Daemonhammer, Nemesis Force Halberd, 2x Nemesis Force Sword, Psycannon
Justicar: Nemesis Force Halberd

2x Psydreads 270

Then invest in some razerbacks and warrior acolytes with the rest of the points, it will give you some firepower and great scoring units.

Don't forget how strong Coteaz' mele attacks are after hammerhand. He is very capable of wrecking a waveserpent on his own and will have the benefit of krak grenades.

I agree /w melta's on the chaos list, I'd also suggest taking nurgle over Khorne on the lord and then just a simple power weapon over the axe. Same with the Aspiring's, power sword over claws and cut mark of khorne.

Take off dirge casters and give the spawn Nurgle aswell.

Rage SOUNDS exciting but it's about getting that charge off, your squad is going to win combat vs MEQ anyways so rage isn't needed.

Charge will be difficult?

Yes i will def send that info off to my teammate.


Rage is only really worthwhile when you know you can get the charge.

A rhino prevents you from getting that to a large extent...but it can always make for a great screen to have the guys run behind as well.

I like the addition of the paladins, i might just have to run this tomorrow night and see how it plays.

Played my teammate last night with his part of the list and mine and we both liked the results. Paladins did some work for me as well as the dread and two rhinos. He won the match, sadly failed my leadership on my paladins and they ran straight off the board on some stupid high number. That cost me 2 paladins and my hq XD
