Hey guys
I plan to pick up some Sumo models at some point to serve as my Ogres for my Samurai Kings of War models. I dont want them to look to plain so I plan on giving them tattoos. My painting is barely passable as it is so there is no way I could paint tattoos. Has anyone tried using temporary tats on miniatures? I know people doing nail art will sometimes use them on their nails before covering it with a clear coat to seal it so I figured maybe someone here has tried it for minis.
If so do you have any pictures of how it turned out?

No idea on temporary tattoos, but have you seen the tattoo decals that Hasslefree do?

I hadn't seen them before. They look decent but I would be looking for something more akin to the Yakuza style back pieces.

Hmmm - I can't think off the top of my head of anything suitable like that, but check out Model Display Products, they had some decal sets of graffiti - I would guess 90% would be too big, but there might be 1 or 2 in there.

well, try it out! They are temporary after all. You could try putting one on a spare arm or a bit of plastic and see how that works out.

You can get print-it-yourself decal "paper" - find an appropriate image and then print it on the decal sheet, cut it out and apply it as normal.

I plan too. Once I pick up some temp tattoos and I will try it on a test miniture and report the results. If it works I will know ready for when I acquire some sumo. That will be really useful for the Banners and Sashimi for my Samurai as well as tattoos, thanks.

I saw a dark eldar army here on dakka that had used them.
The paint wasn't the best but some of the skull/spider tattoos looked pretty good.
I'll see if I can link when I'm at a computer rather than my phone.

Making your own stencils would likely work, too. A fairly quick-and-dirty method: Find an image you like online. Reduce it to the size you want. Print it. Laminate it. Cut out the lines/image. Hold it over your model. Paint.
