So to follow on from the electric heavy necron list I posted a week ago, I decided to add 1k of BA allies. Think there is a mech list that can stand up to this?

So the Overlords and both Lords go in the Ghost Ark for a quality assault unit from an open topped vehicle. Each warrior squad has 2 stormteks to decimate any vehicle. Scarabs act as speed bumps/ distraction units or tank hunters. Annihilation barges are, well - annihilation barges! 5 pods, so 3 come down turn 1, probably the honour guard, death company and furioso. EVERY unit is a major threat to all vehicles barring AV14 and there is more than enough AV14 killers too. Large amount of high strength shots for horde and FMC/MC cover. Good anti titan list too methinks. Should be nice against serpent spam too. Plus lots of anti flyer! What do you think?
Oh the dreads in there simply for the 5th pod... I know its pants.

I could run the assault squad naked to afford an orb on an overlord to make the overlords and lords more durable....

This list would however struggle against triptide/seer council baron/screamer star (due to the rerollable 2++) Selective deployment should help against pod heavy armies (reserve the anni barges).

A few things to point out. 99.9% sure the honor guard must accompany your HQ besides you would want a Chaplain with the Death Company. Gives them rerolls on all missed hits and wounds on the turn they assault. For the cost of the Honour Guard just run a Sanguinary Guard. 2+ save and limitless customization plus, though completely unimportant unless you are like me, Sanguinary Guard are one ot the coolest looking models in the game. Why pod the Assault Squad or Guard? Jump packs for BA reroll failed reserves and scatter 1 D6 but that shouldn't matter because for 10 points put a locator beacon on a pod for zero scatter. I don't use drop pods because I find dreadnoughts to be a bit underwhelming which other then Sternguard would be the only thing I used them for...about 200 points with the pod for something that gets popped the first turn its on the board. No thanks I'll take mobile tanks like Baal Preds and Vindicators. I don't know much about the Necrons but these are my thoughts on the Allies.

Thanks for the feedback.

ICs do not have to accompany their honour guard. I find a chaplain with the death co (esp 10men) is overkill but do sometimes run them with them, although a libby with blood rage can do almost the same thing for cheaper. The pods have lots of advantages over jps. They arrive 1st turn, they deploy from the pods so no squashed grouping that a nice plasma cannon blast would like to shoot at, massively reduced chance of mishaps and to top it off, even if scatter does occur I can correct it with the 6" deployment. I need 5 pods for the arrival of 3 in the 1st turn.
I do like sanguinary guard and own 4 units of them, and would be partial to considering fitting a unit into the list, but that would mean dropping the furioso.
My usual BA lists involve flamestorm baals with vindi and raven support so I agree with you there. But since they are desperate allies I don't want my BA anywhere near my crons. Therefore the pods dropping in the opponents backfield are to try and push the opponent forward into charge range of my ghost ark squad... and if they don't, they will be in charge range of the death co and a furioso. Rock and a hard place...

I tend to run the chap in there with all the DC having bolters. I like the option of shooting a little to thin out my target first plus they are more versatile. My current 2k list has all that you mentioned...2 flame Preds, 2 vindi, and a raven and I'm play testing an anti super heavy Death Star with Dante, 5 sang guard 1 fist and all with inferno, Sang Priest with fist and inferno, and Libby with sword and SOS and Blood Lance.

I like it! Very expensive points wise but will be very fun to play. With shield of sanguinius and your priest it should add a lot more survivability to the squad. The dante bomb always vapourises what ever vehicle it lands next to too.
