Ok all, here goes!

Grand Master Mordrak
x4 Ghost Knights, x2 Hammers, x2 Halberds

x5 Strike Squad, x1 Hammer, x3 Halberds, Justicar w/ Sword, TL HB Razorback with psyammo
x5 Terminators, x1 Hammer, x3 Halberds, Psycannon, Justicar w/ Halberd
x5 Terminators, x1 Hammer, x3 Halberds, Psycannon, Justicar w/Halberd

Dreadknight, Greatsword, Heavy Incinerator, teleporter

I'm not really sure about the Strike Squad, but it seems like if I deep strike in Mordrak and the other Terminator squads, that gives me a mobile squad on the table. Plus I figured on starting the DK's as far forward in/behind cover and the jump them ahead and light something up with purifying flames and engage in combat while everything else maneuvers into optimal locations.

Ideas? Am I on the right track? I like Mordrak and his background. Otherwise I think I'd go with a generic Grand Master with a bodyguard of four Paladins with Apothecary, Halberds and Hammer. Anyways....

Thanks!

Hmm the Gkss isn't doing much for you tbh, you can just through a normal SS in a psyback and save the points from the hammer/halberds and then throw in another dude to make it 6 guys.

Otherwise I'd say give it a go.

Yea strikes should never really be in combat so remove the halberds and save some points. Not sure if its worth having the one transport as its an easy target.

The single transport was a concern of mine as well, the only thing I guess I could do, is drop the GKSS for a few Paladins or throw an assassin or something in. I hate to lose the third scoring unit (not counting the potential extra scoring unit I can get with Mordraks Grand Strategy)

Not too sure what to go with in that case....

I wouldn't necessarily say never but, I agree that strikes shouldn't be out fitted with halberds usually as they cost alot for them and strikes are normally on capping duty/ when they do make it in combat swords do just as good as halberds since they only have 1A base 2 on the charge. Now if your talking puriifers that is something totally different. Halberds are cheaper and you have 2 A base 3 on the charge and going at I6 with 3 attacks per model could very much be a big deal. As for the razorback, I'd say that its fine given that he will probably be deep-striking some of the terminator squads and as he needs models on the field to be able to do so that would enable him to do so. Finally a ride for a strike squad will give them a better chance at getting them where they need to go rather than walking them there so it's not necessarily a bad idea.

At the end of the day I personally feel you are a little low on the body count. but hey what works for you and what works for me are totally different. Try it out and let us know how it goes

Is there a way to run Mordrak and ghostly friends and the twin angry baby carriers and add a few more bodies? It probably involves dropping terminators in favor of strike squads, right? I'm open to suggestions, but would like to keep the three units I mentioned if possible.

Henchmen squads if you wanted to.... drop a terminator squad take coteaz and then fill up on 3 man scoring units.

Also a vindicare is very cool.

I had hoped to keep it grey knight heavy, at least to start.

Might have to try squeezing a Librarian in somewhere, they seem awesome.

Any other suggestions?
Thanks!

In my opinion the GK special characters are best left at home for games under 1759ots. Well, except Cotez maybe. For the price you pay for Mordrak + Ghosts you can get a GM and terminators. This nets you another scoring unit.

Honestly if you want more Gks then drop the terminator squads for normal gkss but you lose more then you gain. As for the librarian unless your going to do the summoning LR in their face not really worth it.

Customizing a GM can run way more points than some special characters. In this case, Mordrak gets a cool/fluffy unit that if wounded, can generate a few more bodies. Thats pretty sweet, I think. While it doesn't alleviate thee fact they can't score, I'm pretty sure he could use the Grand Strategy to make them scoring, though i had thought about using that on one of the DK's haha.

Other than the special charactera, what kind of set up is suggested for a Grand Master?

Dropping a Land Raider in close to have something assault out of t the following turn could be great for backing up areas where you could use some help...
