So the Privateer Press online store actually is listing some new Convergence stuff. Looks like the Corollary and the floating vectors are getting models now. This is probably old news but there's no other thread about it so I thought I might as well bring it to attention of the website.

Also I have a tactical question so this thread will actually have some substance to it. Does anybody actually see a point to the Modulator? I just can not ever see a situation where I want to take it.

That's just previews. Typically things are released 3-4 months AFTER they show up on the website.

It is a VERY good anti infantry jack. Primarily against basic 1 HP infantry. Things Kayazay Assassins or Nyss hunters will think twice before engaging it in melee. Attack the Modulator you die, basic infantry who are not immune to free strikes also can't just walk away because free strikes. It is kinda a choose your poison type scenario. Also with its guns you can shoot at a low defense target father back, such as a jack, and then get auto hits with pow X against all the higher defense infantry between you and the jack. You can take out annoying solos and stuff that way, also those additional hit gets around stealth. Also it is the cheapest convergence heavy.
If I where to play convergence, which I don't, I would field a modulator for infantry and solo hunting.
I like the floating jacks much better than the terrestrial ones.
As for the modulator, it is a dirt-cheap heavy with guns and solid anti-infantry tech. It can never be the backbone of an army due to it's low damage but I can see it functioning well for holding zones etc. Plasma Nimbus is a terrifying rule for infantry spam lists.

Heh, I thought them being up on the site meant they were going to be available for sale in the immediate future. Rookie mistake. Never bought from PP direct before, just from my LGS.
I really don't like the flight stands they're using. They just seem too big and immersion breaking for my tastes. The 40k flight stands are better from a not getting the way perspective as far as I'm concerned.
That said, the models themselves are pretty cool to me. Can't wait to get my hands on the assimilator with Syntherion. Boosted ground pounder damage rolls are a thing that will happen...

The flight stands are bulky, but they seem to be designed to hold up metal models if need be. If someone dislikes them, I'm sure a well-disguised metal rod will do the job better and be less intrusive. To their credit, they sweep around behind the models rather than straight down, which gives a better impression of the bottom of floaty models.

PP doesn't sell most WM/H stuff directly. About all they sell directly is bits, out of production stuff and limited edition type-ish stuff. Oh, and start sets apparently. Or when they sell stuff directly at cons. Generally you have to go thru a store or online retailer to buy their stuff.

I think they look ace, as with all of the other CoC models. Some people just can't appreciate art.
Matter of opinion.
And yours seem to be in the minority because I also find the floating vectors absolutely gorgeous... If only I could find a game reason to justify buying the Modulator...

Except it's not, as it's not held as the general opinion.

General Opinion =/= the truth, just look at religions if you don't believe me.
It's actually a reference to a single line in Mansfield Park(yes, I made a Jane Austen reference and it sickens me): "Where an opinion is general, it is usually correct"

Best to not engage. It's a fool's errand.
OT: Does anyone else find the blade armed heavy odd?
OT: Does anyone else find the blade armed heavy odd?
Yes, but mostly cause I find the humanoid torso and floating pillar lower half don't quite mesh as well as they could and then they go and give it the most blah arm position they could.
It's like the malfunctioning massage robot from Wall-E with all the personality removed.
