Just built this, is almost exactly the same size as the GW aegis line . would you accept this in game? arranged properly of course, and pics don't quite show it but has all the right amount of long wall sections and single cover points.

I really like these! I think it's good that you've stuck to the general shape of the imperial ADL and not just gone w a barricade of scraps

Really good use of bits and plastic card, well done!

I would absolutely accept that in game, not just because it looks great (it really does), but also because you've stuck to nearly regular aegis defense line size unlike so many custom defense lines.

I would play against it! Furthermore, i've been considering crafting my own and my use yours for some inspiration.

Nicely done.

Yeah I'd accept it. They definitely look like something an ork mob would throw together. Although, some of those low sections don't provide as much cover, and give you better los, so you might get some nerdrage from a waac player. In any case, be sure to post up pics when you paint it up!

Oh, and welcome to dakka.

Thank you all so much for the kind words, yea Im a little worried about the "nerdage" with the lower walls because it will probably be my grot kannon crew taking advantage of this =/. honestly the height of them came down to how much plasticard I had left haha. anyway thanks for the great feedback guys.

Yeah, why not? It's all about length, and aegis counts for 4+ cover so you don't need to argue about what save it gives you with your opponent...

on a side note, I use the imperial defense lines with my orks,. (looted or just recently re-occupied!) grots are invisible behind the walls!! If you can't see it you can't shoot it (apart from the runtherd) Not that I play that douche card against opponents, but maybe someday I will...

MFA, especially now that you have disclosed you plan to use this with grot crew and explicitly made the middle parts lower so they could see over it.

And nice touch, people MFA and then pre-emptivley call anyone who complains WAAC. The person making a shorter wall so his grots can see over is the WAAC person.

The walls are fine, you should self moderate and never attempt to use grot units with them since you would be out of luck with a stock ADL. Because if you were to replace them with stock models, your grot annoys would not be able to shoot. If you are unwilling to play them as stock models, MFA.

fair call, but I would happily replace them with the stock model as I only made these because I cant afford real models/ ie most of my army. but yeah iv had a game with them and used them with my lootaz instead. iv been looking elsewhere and its pretty unanimous that grots cant use an ADL as a fire point.

It is simple fix it seems to make your middle parts 1" tall. You went 95% of the way to make a custom ADL which fits the exact dimensions and then just 'stopped' with half inch middle parts.

It is such a minor fix to complete the model and make it perfect dimensions, just seems curious not to do it... Except if the goal was to allow kannons and grots to shoot over them.

I get the feeling trying to explain my modelling rarely has the game in mind would be fruitless, however when I do play I like to keep it legit, so thanks for your thoughts.

Oh I really like what you have modeled. I don't have a defense line for my Orks yet, I might borrow some of your ideas. Great use of bits and plasticard. I would play against it for sure.
