I made a 1500 Nurgle list, and I was wondering if it would do reasonably well in a competitive environment. How does it compare to other CSM lists, and does it need any changes to be more effective?

How well will it do in a comp environment?

Not well. The rhinos will get destroyed, then all your units will be slowly killed as you even more slowly kill the enemy with bolter fire.

The Heldrakes and the biker lord+spawn are the only units that pose any kind of threat. If your average gunline list realizes this and takes care of them accordingly, they shouldnt have much of a problem with you.

How good is this compared to other CSM lists?

Very good. Minus some obliterators and a third heldrake, this is about as good as it gets for CSM.

Changes: id drop the havoc launchers on the rhinos, as you wont want to be firing those, but instead moving flat out to get your PMs into position as elite midfield troops. By the time they've arrived and the rhinos is standing still, it will be dead or at 1 HP
Id drop the cultists, they dont add anything to your list. Drop them, they are just more wounds that will run away if shot at with anything mediocre.

With your extra points id make each PM squad 7 men and upgrade your biker lord to have a SoC instead of the AoDG, and the black mace instead of the power fist.

The strength of this list is that if your opponent fires at the wrong units, you're going to have 3 high-threat units ontop of him very quickly. You also have a variety of units, some of which are dependent on their armor saves(the marines), while others are not(the spawn), so high str/AP lists wont totally decimate you, your opponent will have to take a mix and tactically use their resources.

So it seems like the troop section of the list needs a lot of work then. Do you have any suggestions for how to make the troops more effective? Maybe noise marines or allied daemons/ig?

Is this list any better?

If you want to be as competitive as possible I'd take belakor over a heldrake and a PM squad. Take daemon allies.
