Hi all, just wondering if the list I crafted has any value in a semi competitive environment. I'm trying to use the Old stormtrooper models to represent my army since they look cool, angry and less pansy compared to the usual guard.

CCS
+ 4 Melta
+ bodyguard ( had nothing else to put )
+ Chimera
total : 165

Troop
2 x Vet
+ 3 Melta
+ carapace
+ Chimera
total : 185 x 2

Heavy support ( can be either in 3 for reserves or 1 + 1 + 1 for targeting )
3 x LRBT stock
total : 450

Overall : 1k points

This will be my first list with the 6th ed since I stopped around 5th ed and have now some obscure reason to do drugs again. I haven't read all the new rules as of yet except those relating tanks. Basic idea is to put more tanks into a mech list without having my CCS/vets becoming nothing more than fodder. Use 6 vehicles to rush objectives and kick guard out for a better hold. Use LRBT to become fire magnets so that transports can actually reach their targets. Not much use in CQC but 3 + 3 + 4 Melta should be enough to ward off heavy inf while Battle cannons do what they do since 5th. Target saturation means enemies either choose to go for LRBT and allow transports to reign free or vice versa. Relatively small profile and starting armour of list means good movement and decently able to avoid drops and avoid low ST blast weps for the most parts. Lack of AA is evident but I'm banking on not many flyers for our grorup. Not sure if I should have officer of the fleet/astropath as a trade off for meltas. Feedback is appreciated though the main look of this army is Tanks/APC/carapace armour aiming to be something like an elite Private security company.

I would keep all the russes on the table and keep them in separate slots so you can fire at different targets.

This list looks good, it seems like it can DEFINITELY hold its own in a competitive environment. You have enough firepower to obliterate at 1k and people grossly underestimate the deadliness of those melta wagons. And I agree with tankboy145; absolutely start all three Lemons on the table, and in separate units. Holding them in reserve will only allow your opponent to raise hell on your armor 12 the first couple turns without mercy, and then when your lemons finally come in as one squad, they have a serious handicap only being able to shoot at one target.

Overall great list, barebones with everything you need. I like it. Good luck!
