So I have been playing necrons for 4 years now and I felt like it was time for a change, so i ordered some nid units and the codex (dont actually have the codex yet so I dont know point values).
I like the big bugs and tervigons most (reason for wanting to try tyranids were the tervigons).

HQ:
1x Flyrant /w 2 TL Devourers, Hive Commander
1x Flyrant /w 2 TL Devourers, Hive Commander

Elite:
1x Haruspex /w Regen, AG

Troops:
30x Termagants
30x Termagants
1x Tervigon /w Shreddershard Larve
1x Tervigon /w Shreddershard Larve

Heavy:
1x Mawloc

Flyrants works best with 2TL Devs with BLeech.

Walking Hive Tyrants present little to no threat, and with a crown will get targeted fast and raped.

Tervigons aren't great anymore. Taking 2 is a massive points sink.

Haruspex sucks.

Make them both flyrants, drop a tervigon, drop the Haruspex. Biovores are good! Pair them up to open up your HS slots and look elsewhere.

I have seen all the evil that the galaxy harbours, and I have slain all whose presence defiles the Emperor. I have seen what you will see. I have fought what you must fight, and I have slain what you must slay... so fear not and be proud, for we are the sons of Sanguinius, the protectors of Mankind. Aye, we are indeed the Angels of Death."

Thx for the tips on the Hive Tyrants!

I really want to run 2 tervigons tho, (especially with the little outflank strategy, even if it doesnt work optimally)

Also can you elaborate on why the haruspex sucks?

It's a melee-centric MC that has no real method of reaching the other side of the board, other than footslogging it. I think it might be worth something if you add AG and Regeneration, because if it DOES manage to reach the other side, it will do some serious damage and recoup wounds. However, it has low WS and if surrounded by enough cannon fodder, it'll be stuck till the game ends (which could be a good thing, depending on the situation). I'm running one in my next list as a distraction unit. If you do decide to go with one, make sure you understand every rule it has, because it has a lot (fear, tongue's precision strike on a 6, regen, acid blood, etc).

I will second his assertion that 2 Tervigon is too much of a point sink. For the cost of 30terma and 1 tervi, you can field nearly 60 homagants, or tons of termagants/devilgants, or GS and warriors and gants, or throw some points into VThrope or ZThrope, or even a Tyrannofex + a few models. Once you separate yourself from how badass Tervigon's used to be, it opens the door to a wide array of play options that are actually quite viable.

Hope that helps.

Thanks alot, yes i was already planning on putting on AG (wasnt sure about regen because it already can regen wounds by hitting stuff, but i guess it needs to hit something first)

Yeah, I'm kind of up there with Regen myself. But a CC beast that can potentially recover 2 wounds per friendly turn can get really nasty if it lives long enough. Sooner or later they will run out of units that can dedicate fire its way, and by then the odds are surely in your favor.

Updated the list, decided against regen on the haruspex (because i can maybe get it trough the trygon prime tunnel)

My question:
Is the prime worth it in this army (at first i thought it would be good to give the haruspex synapse after it got out of the tunnel, but the tervigon that outflanks could accomplish this aswel). The 6 extra shots are also nice, but is it worth the 40 points?

Not really, a Mawloc is much cheaper and generally better... especially if he hits on TFTD. And the Haruspex sucks cause with the same kit you can grab yourself an Exocrine, which in my opinion greatly outclasses it.

New Orleans

Mawloc kills troops dead. I actually clipped a land raider on purpose so I'd only have the 1 in 6 of losing it to perils and you get the 2 full templates. I got lucky and he went back in to ongoing resverves. That is really nasty.

Took out the biovores and the trygon, put in a mawloc and went back to my old 2x hive commander + outflanking tervigon strategy
