Got a game against a friend who only has 1200 points of chaos/tau (a PA lord, dark apostle, a hellbrute, some plague marines, and some cultists + some farsight enclave crisis suits + commander.)

Deciding between lists.

A: 3 razorbacks of 5 assault marines, 1 meltagun each. 1 priest with power axe in one squad, a divination libby warlord in another, and another divination libby in the 3rd, backed up by a melta/assault cannon stormraven with corbulo and a thunderhammer termie squad riding inside, sarge with claws.

B: Dante, 10 man assault marines with 2 meltaguns, and a priest with power axe as a deep strike bomb, 3 sanguinary guard units as troops, 2 axes 3 swords in each, and one more priest with basic ccw/pistol to go with one of the guard squads.

Which list would make the game more fun?

Dantewing. Flyers are no fun for everyone involved and rushing around him with vehicles while he's running Dark Vengeance + PMs + Farsight Enclaves won't be any fun either. Sanguinary guard on the other hand are pretty lolworthy in any real game but are actually a ton of fun in beerhammer games. Charging a unit of Crisis suits with Furious Sanguinary Guard is simply awesome.

Your first list is about as competitive as Blood Angel's gets. If you want to stomp his face, go for it.

He ended up choosing the stormraven list because he wanted to see the corbulo termie unit in action. It was pretty even until the game went to turn 6, and I got his cultists off his emperor's will objective.
