Ok, new list idea! I call it..... the Justice League. Its for my 1750 league game vs White Scars (Purge the Alien), but I'm wondering if it could be a decent 1850 tournament build. Strategy is fairly straightforward, all the IC's join Aun'va and form a deathstar.
-------------------------------------
Farsight (Primary):

HQ:
Farsight - 165

No Category:
O'vesa, Torchstar, Bravestorm, Ob'lotai, Sha'vastos, Brightsword - 1160

Troops:
Crisis Team (bare bones) - 69
Kroot (15 man, 1 hound) - 95
Kroot (15 man, 1 hound) - 95

Tau (Ally):

HQ:
Aun'va - 100

Troops:
Kroot (10 man, 1 hound) - 65
------------------------------------

Thanks for looking! I really want some feedback on this one.

I think you could leave Oblatai out of the list and invest in some solo suits for hiding and claiming objectives.

Definitely for the tournament version. Sadly, the mission for the campaign game is Purge the Alien, so running solo suits is out of the question.

More feedback would be great!

I don't think you can include Aun'va in a Farsight list. The Divergent Destiny rule in the Enclaves book specifies you cannot include Aun'va or Shadowsun in a Farsight army. Granted, the inherent vagueness of GW's rules can lead to a confusion between Detachment vs. Army. I may be wrong though.

The TO's down here in Houston have ruled it that the restriction only applies to the Primary detachment, I believe FoB also ruled it that way.

I've liked "The Eight" since I first saw them but I get the feeling that they are mostly fluff. I don't really see them being "competitive" per se... I like that they can split off from the group and do their own thing and having four wounds for each commander is nice - but it's not enough. T4 means your suits could get ID'd... which isn't too common but still - I'm just saying a single nova charged riptide could eat more than half your points in ONE turn. (Something to think about)
Also you're severely hindering your movement by sticking the suits with Aun'Va. (He's not jetpack, is he?) and that will definitely cause you problems because that essentially denies you one of Tau's greatest strengths (JSJ)

Kroot are always a good bet however.

Thanks for the input!

If I position the models correctly, I can force Ion Accelerators to wounds on the Iridium and Ovesa, so ID hopefully won't be a problem. Also, Aunva is there to bring the Paradox, which essentially gives the unit a 2++, which makes Grav and Ion a lot less scary.
