Recently I've been using an allied unit of Nob Bikers & Warboss as a spearhead for my guard army, it's been very effective and has recently had a wyvern added to the list. But I'm now looking to return to fielding a full guard army, so far I've come up with these two lists the 1st with a mixture of infantry and vehciles army and 2nd a all armour tank company.
LIST 1 - TANKS AND INFANTRY
HQ
80 - Command Squad: Lascannon

Some good long range support and will help versus monstrous creatures

185 – Veteran Squad: Sgt with Boltgun, 3 Plasma Guns & Carapace Armour in Chimera with Heavy Bolter and Multi-laser.
Decided to go with 1 carapace armoured unit that could leap out of their chimera and open up with all weapons at a target without relying heavily on cover. It also allows me to take more 'durable' plasma gunners.
151 – Veteran Squad: Sgt with Bolt Pistol, 3 Grenade Launchers, Autocannon, Krak Grenades. Mounted in Chimera with Heavy Bolter and Multi-laser.
86 – Veteran Squad: Sgt with Boltgunl, 3 Grenade Launchers, Autocannon.

FAST ATTACK
170 – Vendetta
Still a good anti-tank unit regardless of the points rise.
140 – Devildog: Heavy Flamer & Smoke Launchers
I choose a Devildog over a Hellhound because I felt more anti-tank/armour was needed over anti-infantry and with all the super heavies and big based models out there it would prove useful. Big bonus if I get the outflank warlord trait. However this might be replaced with 2 pairs of scout sentinels later on.
HEAVY SUPPORT

(All 3 are solid choices)
FORTIFICATIONS
100 – Defence Line: Quad Gun
(Commander often sits on the quad gun as those precision shots can come in handy)

Overall I think it's a well rounded army with a fair mix of anti-tank and infantry units, granted I would have preferred to give the squads more gear such as camo cloaks but meh they're all squishy humans after all.
LIST 2 - FULL TANK COMPANY!
HQ
215 - Tank Commander Pask: LR Vanquisher with Lascannon,
185 - Pask’s mate: LR Executioner with Plasma Cannon sponsons.
(Vanquisher seemed the best choice for Pask and with the preferred enemy rule he gives his squadron a plasma russ seemed the best option for the 2nd tank even with the 25% risk of it needing to fire at the same target.)
TROOPS
150 – Veteran Squad: 3 Grenade Launchers and Autocannon, mounted in Chimera with multi-laser and heavy bolter.

170 – Vendetta(Obvious choice, was also going with a Hellhound but dropped it for a shield generator and Wyvern that will likely be just as effective in dealing with infantry.)

(The Destroyer Tanks have been very effective in other armies, basically they’re a demolisher hull with a hull mounted Heavy Laser Destroyer Array which is Range 60, Sgt9, Ap2, Ordnance, twin linked. I put the heavy stubbers on them for the 50% chance to save the laser array against weapon destroyed results)
FORTICATIONS
75 – Void Shield Generator: 2 Layers
(Seems a good choice to protect the destroyers and HQ choice)
Total: 1500pts
