So I have a friend who is currently out of town (reason I'm not just asking him), who has some super awesome eldar, and all the models' armor looks super sleek, just polished, look to them. I want to paint up some of my guard so their leadbelcher armor has a similar look.

Do the eldar models just naturally look like that, or is there a special technique to give the sleek appearance? I know there is a polish you can put on your models but I don't think he uses that.

Is it just a case of using gloss varnish?

Gloss varnish or inks most likely.
