The way i see it, Tyranids are gonna become a big threat for the galaxy. Most of the factions are gonna focus on killing hive fleets and after awhile the tyranid will die out.

Than Chaos will become the great final threat overall for the entire galaxy and most of the factions are gonna start fighting them creating the biggest war ever known in the history of 40k. The eldars will probably die out in this battle while the imperium loses most of their men. Slannesh might finally die and 40k shall end. But chaos can never really be defeated so small bands of cultist and demon incursions will still appear after the great final mega battle.

Why on earth would you ever think that the Chaos Gods want to win? It's counter productive to their goal. Hell it's pretty easy to draw lines that make it seem like Chaos could be in-universe responsible for W40K being stuck in eternal war by the Chaos Gods setting up the dominoes for fall in the right order.

I'm trying to think inside the box not outside.

It is inside the box. Chaos likes the materium and gets a laugh from it, and often cockblocks its own bloody champions at the moment of their victory, all for a nice good chuckle (for which Tzeentch is infamous for). What do they have to gain from consuming the materium? Worship? They already have it and can get it elsewhere. Power? Already have it. Territory? The Warp is infinite. Of course Chaos is also flying rodent gak insane by mortal standards so it's probably impossible to get inside the head of four eldritch abominations.

In the Valedor book, the Eldar seem fairly confinced that it's going to go like this:

Chaos erupts from the Eye of Terror and burns huge swathes of the galaxy, before exhausting the mortal energies that sustain it and receding back into the eye like a spent candle.

The Tyranids scour most of the galaxy clean as they sweep from one end to the other, and then leave (having no interest in territory, and it not being worth hunting down the very few stragglers left behind).

The Necrons are left to rule over a galaxy of dust and scattered, broken remains, but it is their dust to rule and will be until the end of time.
