Salamanders fight on again! This time the battle is in a different format, audio over still pictures rather than live video.

Big Guns Never Tire - 4
Maelstrom - 3

Freaking awesome battle report man. I am playing an army similar to yours but without the dreadnoughts and more tactical and assault marines. How do you think the Dreadnoughts did for you? Were they worth it? Do you think a pure Alpha strike or a pure rhino force would have been more or less effective?

Something like this either all in Rhinos or all in Drop Pods up to 1850 I add in a Lvl 2 Librarian & Lotd/Storm Talons/LandSpeeders. You could go Land Speeders and keep an all alpha strike army, and with dual multi-Meltas rerolling to hit because of Vulkan thats a bargain at 80pts.

Vulkan 190
TAC squad, melta, MM, Combimelta, Drop pod 205

Total 1500

Thanks for the kind words! This was a really fun game with a lot of good and bad luck. The dreadnoughts were decent, but his nurgle guys could glance their AV13 on a 6, so rather than being unkillable by basic troops they died pretty quick. Not their best game, but I still like them. Landspeeders with free twin linked meltas deep striking for 80 points is great. I like command squads and legion of the damned as well.

Your list looks really good, insane amount of scoring and great alpha strike to kill a couple tanks before they can fire. The thing I like about pure drop pod lists is you can always plan on going second without taking any casualties, or if you get first turn it doesn't affect much.
