I've been away from 40k since 2nd edition came out, but I am now just getting back into the game after a 10 year break. As such, I am really glad to find such a great forum online with so much info - well done Dakkalites!
I'm British, but I am currently living in Hong Kong, so if anyone in the city fancies a game against a bit of a noob then feel free to pm me! I have re-started with my first 40K love - Space Marines - and currently have bout 2000 pts worth, but I might also branch out into Tyranids if I get the chance (wow, how they have changed in 10 years!)
I am also entering my first 'beginners level' tournament in a few weeks, and have posted my first army list on the forum here too - any advice on how to improve it or scrap it and start again would be most welcome!
Cheers

Hi lapedus, welcome to Dakka.
Just noticed your threads two days ago in this Forum, it's so nice to know another 40k player in Hong Kong. I am a local guy, but loved space marine by my first sight at the GW store when I was travelling in Oxford, England two years ago. However, since I was too busy in working and academic studying, I could only recently let my army "reach combat effective" and only played a couple games this year, so although I studied this game whenever I have time throgh "Batrep" and some forum, I am still claiming myself as a new player I also post my own view upon your lists that you plan to bring to the "beginners' level tournament".
I think we may have registered the same tournament that will be held next month in Wan Chai. So looking forward to see you on the tabletop, and wish we both have fun.
