My Fiancee really loved the movie (so much so we watched it twice) and now she wants to read the comics. She has been reading online about it etc.
So I was gonna buy her some, but I hate comic books and so on, but many here do enjoy them, and I would not be surprised if some have read them. Where do I start to buy some and which ones should I go after to make her reading experience great (she loves reading big time)?
Cheers guys.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Guardians-Galaxy-Abnett-Lanning-Collection/dp/0785190643
would be the most logical place -- although bear in mind the continuity is a fair bit more complicated than in the movie.
Could also suggest :
http://www.amazon.com/Rocket-Raccoon-Groot-Galaxy-Racoon/dp/0785189777
which is brand new.
http://www.amazon.com/Marvels-Guardians-Galaxy-Prelude-Marvel/dp/0785154108/ref=pd_bxgy_b_text_y
delves into the dark and distant past of the characters, but one would suggest that's for "serious" comic book fans, but YMMV.
I'd stick to the Abnett and Lanning run
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guardians_of_the_Galaxy_(2008_team) has more details.

While on the topic, what about Watchmen comics. Thats the other one she was interested in. Any advice where to start for that series?

Why do you hate comic books?

Just the artwork (from what I have seen, it may change in the coming months) really puts me off. I will admit hate was probably too strong of a word though... more dislike or not interested.

Watchmen is... -- alright was -- a single series all collected into one collection many many times since its' first publication.
A year or 2 back ( ish) DC finally buckled and did a whole bunch of prequel mini series, to mixed reception. These are also available in trade format, but I wouldn't worry about them too much.
Watchmen is good though.
I'd also perhaps suggest "Fables" -- accept no cheap TV knock offs --, "Scalped" and maybe have a look at Transmetropolitan.
Honour obliged to suggest "Preacher" as well.

The Fables one is probably something she would enjoy. I will pass those suggestions her way.
Cheers for the help. First batch of comics is on the way... Along with a new book shelf...
